Useless hero abilities

1) Whirlwind --> bounce a random zombie away. This is probably worst trick in game which has often even negative moment on your game if you want to play it.
2) Bubble Up --> Move a plant. It gets +3 hp. Idk, maybe if it aswell drawed a card? Now it is one of the worst tricks. You already get * by tricks.
3) Root Wall --> A plant gets +2 hp and can't be hurt this turn. Maybe if it made that plant immune to tricks aswell. Now it just sucks most of the times
4) Dolphinado --> bounce a random plant. Same as whirlwind, but sometimes with pet decks it can be ok.

Other good mentions but not as useless as those four
5) Rock wall --> a zombie gets +5 hp. Definetly better than Bubble up since plants don't use trick so easily on you.
6) Posessed --> a zombie gets +2 hp and frenzy. Sometimes usefull, usually bad but not totally worthless thou.

None of the super-powers are useless, but all the ones listed are definitely more situational than the others.

They work very well with certain cards and strategies, and need patience and timing.

Yes, I see a lot of players using them poorly. As far as I'm concerned, Super! I love easy wins.

I also agree with jaydabbler's analysis, except...

Whirlwind may be my least favorite super-power, but when my opponent throws an Octo-Zombie in the first lane to finish the match off, and I happen to have a Whirlwind in my hand, I certainly wouldn't be calling it useless at that moment.

  • That's exactly what I was trying to tell. Many beastly zombies play Smashing Gargantuar on turn 5. If you have the Whirlwind superpower, you use it and you still have 4 suns to play whatever you want. (almost like a free turn).

Or many players spent their 3rd turn buffing their 1st/2nd turn card (with Vitamin-Z or Fertilize). You Whirlwind it back, and you can play whatever you want.

If you really have reached Ultimate League, you should know that. I'm surprised how you keep complaining about how a card can be "useless".

That's something people at low rank usually do.

  • 1. both of your examples assume there is only one zombie on the board

    2. you may gain a turn advantage, but you lose a card advantage.

Maybe I reached ultimate league because I understand flaws of the game and avoid them, unlike you.

  • How a card that you say it's "useless" can be considered a game "flaw"?

It's not like it's bugged or something, the card is doing what it is supposed to do.

    @jaydabbler

1.- THAT is when you are supposed to play this card. If you play it on a full board, of course you are going to think it's effect it's useless.

2.- Yes, but you gain tempo advantage, and that's what the game is all about. You bounce a zombie/plant that would definitely kill you (Strikethrough, for example), or you bounce a zombie/plant that prevents you from getting letal (Undying Pharaoh, Soul Patch)
