Warning for those with EVGA cards and/or using RIVA TUNER STATISTICS SERVER [RTSS] (please Sticky)

For most EVGA users, at least enthisiasts the Riva Tuner Statistics server is needed to inform EVGA Precision X of your cards performance, the framerate and other required information. However in my experience the game will drop to 1.8, 1.3 or even 0.0 frames/ sec if RTSS is running. Solutions at this time are:

1. One repetitive solution is to close the program and reopen it over and over till the game will run fine, as to keep the functionality.

2. However, the best solution at this time appears to be to simply add a profile for the launcher (PVZ.Main_Wub64_Retail.exe) by pressing the + button and finding it within the games directory. Once this profile is available set the "Application detection level" to None.

As of this time, no different setting seem to fix this other then no detection, or restarting the program until it works. If anyone does however find a setting change that works, please mention it here.

I use a second monitor to put graphs.  It works so much better than an overlay because I can see the history of about the last 5~10 minutes.

If you really want the overlays though you can disable Origin in Game.  By disabling OiG you can no longer push Shift+F1 to join friends games quickly and cannot use the coin shop.

This is true for about all overlay programs like RiviaTuner or fraps.

#2 seems like a decent answer.  I remember doing something like that about a year ago but can't quite remember why.. OiG is a good bet though.

I wouldn't want to go back to overlays with a second auxiliary monitor now.  So so handy for graphs, IRC chats, voice comms, a browser window, anything you want.

This game doesn't lock the cursor in fullscreen mode so this toolset is handy.

Here's a forum post describing it for this exact purpose:
