Welp time to wait 3 months for a legendary skin from rux

I just did the math on rux's shop of how long it will take to earn a legendary skin by not paying. If you do the weekley challenges which only gives 40 stars a week and you get the 150 stars from the prize map it will take 3 months to get a legendary skin if you just do weekly challenges it will take 6 months and if you only do prize map stars 7 months. I knew my predictions from my other post was going to be right. I said it will take a long time to earn those cosmetics without paying and that the weekly challenges would give next to nothing. It doesn't help that they put the skins on a fake discount to make people feel like they are in a rush to buy it which is illegal in other countries and is what fallout 76 did in their store. Keep in mind these legendary skins only last a week so basically you pay or miss out until it comes back again and the thing is if you finally grind up for this specific cosmetic and it's not in the store then guess what you either wait or get another cosmetic you didn't really want. Now hopefully the skins will rotate frequently but like in gw2 some abilities and cosmetics can take a whole year to show up again or many many months. I'm just going to grind my 3 months and hope there is a good legendary skin. I think the rux shop has a lot of problems that need fixing. Let me know what you guys think.

  • Everyone will agree with you.

The beauty of PVZ’s shooter history has been our choice to earn everything by playing a reasonable amount on a daily basis or purchasing things when we didn’t want to grind.

BfN needs to follow this simple formula.  Very few of us will stay, if they put up unobtainable prizes.

Make the game SUPER FUN and we will be happy to spend money (even on a monthly basis) but don’t make us feel like we’re forced to pay. 🙁

I personally feel like in the future it will be changed just like the prize bulbs were changed. I think though for the meantime they need to collect data, feedback and also check sales.

It's my understanding that PopCap is always game for change whether its good or bad. If they feel it needs adjusting they will change them I'm sure of it.

  • Couldn't agree more. The earn rate for stars is ridiculous. It is almost as if they did it just to be able to claim you can earn stars in game but at this rate they may as well not have bothered

Free 500 coins aside, the overwhelming majority of ruxs stock is going to be unachievable for non paying players. Very disappointed in this.

40 stars for actually managing to plant and detonate a bomb as a plant? No thanks.

Make it fair or just be honest about the fact you have to pay for the best stuff. This is insulting.

@34975634954957They should have Rainbow stars for each of the weeklies and like 10 or 20 for dailies and have weekly challenges for modes like turf or team vanquish. not all of us want to play the hell hole that is weekly modes

  • @kingcodered Remove all the other free Rainbow Star opportunities, but add a 500,000 coins = 200 Rainbow Stars exchange that can be done once per week. That's the way to go.
  • the problem is, they (EA/Popcap) don‘t care.

they released BfN and since then GW2 is dead.

i have 26 Million coins left... and the were not able to bring Halloween packs back or the packs for the bosshunt... they just don‘t care... and this just makes me sad and very angry 😡.

this situation here is the same... they don‘t care.

this is also a game for kids... and they really sell ONE costume for 10 Bucks,Dollars, Euros ?

    are you serious?

giving us 500 stars is a bad joke, when you take a look at what RUX has to offer.

and it‘s also a bad joke how you can earn these rainbow stars.

  • What would be nice to know to is how often items will rotate in and out of the store. I can't imagine they have that many legendary outfits ready for the store already so we'll likely see repeats not too far down the line, but the question is, when will items be back?

If we knew for example that this current Acorn/Oak skin was coming back in 4 weeks or 8 weeks or whatever, it wouldn't be as bad since we could plan for it and not feel so rushed.

Originally I was under the impression that items would be in the store for a month, not 1 day, 3 days, and weekly. That really creates the dreaded FOMO feeling about these items and even if the emotes aren't as sought after as the outfits, a lot of us like to collect the things which is also why we want the sticker book like in GW1 and 2 to come back.

Just letting us know that items will be back and some kind of rough schedule as to when would go a long way towards settling the situation down. But right now it feels like 'buy it or lose it' even if that's not actually the case.

There has to be a way introduced to exchange coins for stars. Its broken that you can build up milliions of useless coins and still not get the cosmetics you want.

And guess what, if you do the weekly challenge the first two rewards are for ... more coins. Only when you have done that do you get the third challenge and the chance to earn .. 40 stars. This is an utter joke and badly affects the whole experience of the game.

I love the TTK changes and the main thing for me is a fun PvP, which we now have. Thanks popcap. But boy how this monetisation model is taking the shine off. EA strikes again.

@pink_moozipanThe 'they don't care' statement is obviously wrong.

oh really? why that? In my opinion they don‘t care about us loyal players.

and if you read my post you can understand why I think that they don‘t give a **** 🤷🏻‍♂️
