When does the ranked season end?

And are there any end of season rewards?

they've said early 2017 when a new set is released.

  • A new set of what? New cards? Heroes? Game Modes? More Missions? What? And where are you getting this information? I have not seen it or heard of it yet

In card games a "set" refers to a new set of cards. It's the bread and butter method for making money from a card game, you need timely releases of new card sets to generate revenue. They can't be too soon or people will go broke or quit the game, but they can't be too far apart, or people will lose interest.

I agree that a link to a quote would be nice. I guess we can assume an official response is out of the question, or they wouldn't have been so vague about it in the first place.

My guess would be either a "season" is 3 months as in real life, or when they say "it lasts several months" they did in fact know that the word several could mean any number.

EA is crazy to think this game will last without PvE content and monthly league/ranked resets. People will play this game for a couple months and then quit since there's nothing to do once you've ranked up. Well, there's plenty to do...in other games.

If I were to purely speculate, I might wonder if they don't want monthly ranks because they don't want to pay out monthly rewards.

I'm also curious, when did they say "Early 2017"? I don't remember seeing any kind of approximation to a date anywhere.

I don't think they would be that crazy. Hearthstone didn't get it's first expansion until about 2 years after it first went public (1 year after being fully open) and having longer than monthly resets for a ladder isn't that bad if the ladder is long enough and I can tell you that for most people getting through taco league in less than a month will be extremely challenging. It is true that there are many games to chose from but I can tell you from experience that what this is the common process that starting games go through. They will add sets and features gradually until there is a nice baseline for people to enjoy all the time. In the meantime, people who get bored of the game can take a break and then come back when new features or sets are added. This is how most expansion based games work. Very few actually keep all their player base constantly.

I don't think myself to be anything but winning isn't difficult if you can build a deck
I can give a mediocre player a deck that plays itself so long as they use a little brain power

What deck decks were you successful with?
