As regards E-Pea, he is good, but he really only comes into his own if he has the double reload speed, as you will then hardly notice him reloading.
I think the art of using him is first of all to be able aim well and secondly to know when not to detonate, which one has to bear in mind when shooting at mid- to long range where he delivers a damage of 27. If you get it right you can knock out an Imp in 2-3 shots and a scientist in 3-4 shots at long range, which is exceptional when compared to the other Peas.
On the other hand, in melêe, particularly against imps, he's incomparable as one just spams the trigger and one's bound to knock out whoever one is up against.
