Why does my XP multiplier change from 2 to .5 when playing Flag of Power?

My XP multiplier changes from 2 to .5 whenever I raise the flag on Flag of Power. Is this normal? This will happen with all characters both plants and zombies. Please help

    @fivestring529 As others have mentioned the Flag of Power has its own multipliers (well "dividers" really) as it's quite easy to get large numbers of kills while playing it. 

    You can still use it to get some of your Plant and Zombie quests, kills still count for the "get X vanquishes with Y skill"-type tasks. I find it a good spot to "warm up" with a quick quest if I'm about to play the MP for a while.

    I believe that it is normal. It's to prevent farming xp due to the amount of enemies that the flag spawns

    check your difficulty settings in the world globe thing in your base, i've noticed when I go there to invite friends or save it's often set to 'easy' difficulty by default and I always have to change it to normal or higher. that could be one of the issues.
