Just recently bought the game on release. I have installed it and done the update it asks for. I go to run the game like normal. It appears to connect to the EA servers and you see the little sun flower animation at the bottom. The sunflower turns into a taco then freezes and then quits back to the dashboard. Please help.

I had a similar issue, also on xbox one. I opened the ports on my router per this link:http://help.ea.com/en/article/plants-vs-zombies-gw2-known-issues/Also, I'm not sure if you're using an external drive but, I had to remove GW2 from my external drive and place it on the internal drive. My external drive was too slow to keep up with the game.Once I did those two things my loading problems went away.

@Chewmacca79 Hey, can you try a restart of your system as the first step? Hold the button on the front until it beeps and shuts down.

Start it back up, launch the game and check if the issue persists.

If it does the next step is to reinstall the game content.

I've tried turning the xbox box off by holding power button. I have also installed the game a few times. I can get the game to sort of run while it is about 50% complete. Once it's fully installed it will just quit to dashboard. I've even taken the game back to where I bought it from for an exchange to rule out if it was the disc that was causing the problem. I believe there is an issue with the EA servers as it literally quits after it says it's connecting. I've also set DMZ on my router so there's no chance of any ports being blocked towards the xbox itself.

Still cannot get this to work. It is very frustrating as I really wanted to play this game.
I have no issues with my internet, I have uninstalled the game as well as clearing all the save data.
I've exchanged the game disc for another copy which still does the same.
I can get it to work while it is intalling but soon as it's complete it kicks out of the game to the dashboard after it says PLAYER is connecting to EA servers...
You can see the little sun flower animation at the bottom right which changes to a taco then freezes then quits to dashboard.
Please reply with a solution as I have been waiting for this game since I found out it's release.

Thanks for all the extra detail. It's starting to look like either an account issue or a hardware issue. To check for the former, please try using another gamertag (either a friend's or a throwaway) and see if that will let the game run?

I have tried my brother's gametag on my system and it still doesn't work. My brother has tried my gamertag on his system and it works.
I've done a full factory reset and still not working. I've had the xbox since December and have had no issues with any other games, just this one.
It's a very strange issue. ☹️

I suspect that too now. Mind you when I come to think about it now, a fair few other games would randomly quit back to the dashboard, just not like this one. I thought it was a normal thing for it to crash occasionally. It maybe something to do with the drive not reading the disc properly. Probably got something to do with the way the drive reads the protected portion of the disc. It may think that the disc inserted is not genuine or a copy and kick the game back to dashboard. That is the only conclusion that I can think of TBH.
However my Xbox is still under warranty therefore I will be able to get a replacement. Just have to chew around with sorting that out now.

I am having same problem I have done everything you have done talked to ea support as well as xbox support. Issue is unresolved once they let me know what there going to do I'll let you know they said it should be within the next 3 days I'll have an answer.

Hi there, I had this same issue before myself and I spoke to Xbox one support and they couldn't figure it out. I have xbox live gold and I have EA (electronic arts). So, do you have EA? You know when it's saying "connecting to EA server"? Your game will not work without this membership. Its a yearly membership you pay for once and then renew again when that date comes back around. Now, once you have EA membership you actually have to register that membership online. Just paying for it does nothing. This is that little bit of information I did not know. I struggled forever trying to figure out why it wouldn't work and no one from Xbox could tell me and I couldn't EVER get a response back from EA. So, I hope this helps. Good luck!!
