Yikes heat generation\Battery drain is extremely high on PvZ Heroes

2014 Nexus 6. Android 6.0.1.

Screen got so hot I couldn't touch the screen without burning my finger.

Battery drain is massive. I have never had a game that drains this fast or heats my phone up like this. Even Vainglory does not get this hot.

Nexus 6 has turbo charge capability. Battery drain is so big that battery drains 2% every 3 minutes while turbo charging.

Game is great, but I do not want to turn my phone into a Samsung Note 7.

See image attached to this. Brightness is turned down to 30% too.

    Hey @e_aJesseisachild

Thanks for the report on this, I'll send this to the PvZ team so they can look into it.

Out of interest do you have another device you could try just to make sure it works okay on that?

    Thanks,

    - Andy -

Thank you for the rapid response.

I sure do. I played on iPad Mini 4 using the newest iOS version. Seems to be very stable there.

Good thing someone posted this because it does drain a lot of battery. All three of my friends are playing this game and we all have the same issues with battery draining too fast even though it's already connected to a charger. We're android users and we all have different devices meaning to say it's not just 1 device. It's the app itself. The game is good but the battery consumption is just to much that you need to stop playing just for you to charge up your phone. Hopefully you guys can optimize the game so it won't drain too fast.

PVZ:Heroes drains the battery very quickly relative to any other games i've played, with accompanying heat.

Having power plugged in to the phone makes almost no difference, it still drains quickly.

I won't be able to play it much because of this.

I also can't really recommend it to friends, especially considering playing with them will be almost impossible because everyone's battery will flat.

  • Update:

I had display brightness set to adaptive. I left it set to adaptive, but turned brightness right down, and battery seems to last longer now, and a fair bit less heat is generated.

I was playing indoors (edit: before and now), so there was no good reason for it to be very bright. Maybe the game is confusing the settings? Needs some testing before this becomes more or less than just guesses.

The battery is still drained quite quickly, but i have been able to play quite a lot now, so maybe this will help someone.

I guess great games need a great amount of energy to run. Seriously, I play this game so much that it is 90% of my battery usage.

I'm using Xperia Z2 and Huawei M2 tab. Both of them experiencing fast battery consumption when I'm playing PVZ heroes.
