Zombies Town Center & Weirding Woods - Collectibles Guide!

Hi everyone,

In this thread, I will be showing you where the collectibles are located, this time I will be covering Zombies Town Center Weirding Woods. Note that I will not be mentioning collectibles that I have already mentioned in previous guides in that much detail, and I additionally will not be showing you the locations of the collectibles myself, since I have already collected them all myself and there is no point showing you anyway. So instead, I will provide links to websites and videos that will help to show you where the collectibles are, or to help you have an understanding of what you need to look for in the first place.

That all being said, I will most certainly share information on what these collectibles are, how many of each there are to collect, the rewards you get for collecting them, and so on. The rewards you get are finite, but there are a total of 4 regions in the game as of currently, meaning there are lots of rewards that you can quite easily get your hands on. Every collectible gives your current character XP when you collect it, so make sure to put into consideration which character you use. For instance, you may not like a certain character that much so you may want to level them up by collecting these collectibles from these regions. Another thing to consider is that you can use the "Levelling Up" upgrade to gain 10% more XP from collectibles you collect, while you are collecting stuff. Then afterwards, if you want to, you can then remove the upgrade and you will retain the extra XP you earned. Some collectibles are at a high elevation so you may need to use a character with high jumping abilities in some circumstances. You may also want to consider using characters with high mobility to get towards other collectibles more quickly.

I will be talking about the Chests, Golden Chests, Gnome Chests, and each free-roam region's exclusive collectibles. Let's get started.

CHESTS

Common Chests

Each free-roam region has a total of 50 Common Chests to collect. Their appearance is small and wide, regular brown chests, and they are scattered all throughout each of the regions. You do not need to complete any story quests or follow any other prerequisites before being able to collect these. However, there may be exceptions in rare circumstances. These have varying rewards, such as Coins, Tacos (Town Center only) and Marshmallows (Weirding Woods only).

Rewards for Collecting:

  • 250 XP for each Common Chest you open.
  • The reward/s inside the chest.
  • Chest Test - a medal you get when you have opened 3 Common Chests (Town Center only)
  • Infinite Chest - a medal you get when you have opened all Common Chests (Town Center only).
  • Is This Free? - a medal you get when you have opened 3 Common Chests (Weirding Woods only).
  • Chest Nut - a medal you get when you have opened all Common Chests (Weirding Woods only).

Golden Chests

Each free-roam region has a total of 5 Golden Chests to collect. Their appearance is tall and wide, golden-coloured chests, and they are in different locations throughout each region. These work differently than normal chests: they are harder to get hold of, as you need to complete the main story (apart from the boss fight). Using the Stink Bomb (Zombies Town Center) or activating the Boombox (Weirding Woods) is required in order to get access to each Golden Chest. For this reason, when you find a Golden Chest, they will either be blocked by fungal barricades or vines, depending on your region. What I suggest for this reason, when you find a blocked area: check your map for the nearest Stink Bomb Launcher station, or simply activate the Boombox and use it to put the forest to sleep. Then, use them to open the blocked area, head back to the area you unlocked and open your chest. Enjoy the rewards you get - Golden Chests are less abundant than Common Chests and also contain exclusive, unique and fun rewards. They also contain more rewards than Common Chests

Rewards for Collecting:

  • 500 XP for each Golden Chest you open.
  • The reward/s inside the chest.
  • Start of Gold - a medal you get when you have opened a Golden Chest (Town Center only).
  • All Panned-Out! - a medal you get when you have opened all Golden Chests (Town Center only).
  • To Have and to Gold - a medal you get when you have opened 3 Golden Chests (Weirding Woods only).
  • All That Glitters - a medal you get when you have opened all Golden Chests (Weirding Woods only).

Exclusive & Bonus Rewards

Zombies Town Center

  • Rubbish Ranger set (Foot Soldier).

Weirding Woods

  • Camp Scout set (for Imp).
  • Gate of Croc (Victory Slab).

Gnome Chests

Each free-roam region has 2 Gnome Chests. They look similar to Common Chests, but the most notable difference is that they are grey instead of brown. These 2 chests are only located in one location, and are together: The Gnome Shrine. To get access to both of the Gnome Chests, you must collect all of the Golden Gnomes in the respective regions first. I have made guides on the Golden Gnomes and the Gnome Shrine, so check them out here if you want:

  • 50,000 coins for each Gnome Chest you open.

Exclusive and Bonus Rewards

  • Shrine of Tra-La-La! (victory slab).
  • Infinity Mallets (punchers).

Chest Locations

Watch these videos to find the locations of the Common, Gold and Gnome Chests. Also, you can check your map to find the locations of these chests. Just note that to add chests to the map, you will need to buy it from Otto Do's shop first.

OTHER COLLECTIBLES

Exercise Tapes (Town Center only)

Exercise Tapes are a collectible only available in Town Center. There are only 10 to collect, so it should not take you long to collect all of them. To start collecting these items, first talk to the Out of Shape Human. He is located in Sundrop Hills and, once you have interacted with him, he will ask you to collect all 10 of the Exercise Tapes located throughout the region, and he will give you a reward if you do so. Note that you do not get that many rewards for collecting these tapes, but you need to collect all of them if you want to complete your region fully. When you have collected all of the Exercise Tapes, talk to the Out of Shape Human again and he will give you your reward. His location is as follows:

Rewards for Collecting all Exercise Tapes:

  • 250 XP, for each Exercise Tape you collect.
  • Swole Goals - a medal you get when you have collected all of the Exercise Tapes and have talked to the Out of Shape Human again.

To watch someone collect all 10 of the Exercise Tapes, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJU7wnpPkO8 (note that it is the same as in Plants Town Center - this is because the Exercise Tapes are in the same location in each region).

Audio Logs (Weirding Woods only)

Audio Logs are a collectible which is only available in Weirding Woods. There are only 10 to collect, so it should not in any way take you that long to collect all of them. To start collecting these Audio Logs, first talk to the Outhouse Human. He is located in Camp-Near-A-Lake and, once you have interacted with him, he will ask you to collect all 10 of the Audio Logs located throughout the region, and he will reward you if you do so. Note that do not get many rewards for completing these, but you must collect all of them to complete your region fully. When you have collected all of the Audio Logs, head back to the Outhouse Human and you will get your reward from him.

His location is as follows:

Rewards for Collecting all Audio Logs:

  • 250 XP, for each Audio Log you collect.
  • Staying Occupied - a medal you get when you have collected all of the Audio Logs and have spoken to the Outhouse Human again.

To watch someone collect all 10 of the Audio Logs, watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rR9oaUG3fVY

About Other Collectibles and Conclusion

Other collectibles in the free-roam regions, I have mentioned in my previous guides. They will be mentioned briefly here. Note that Battle Chests, Bounty Hunts and Ops activities will not be mentioned here. This is because they are activities, not collectibles:

Golden Gnomes: There are 24 in each region. Some of them are really simple to collect, while others can be harder and may require you to complete some challenges before you are able to collect them. When you have collected all of them, you can open the Gnome Chests in the shrine freely. Collecting one gives your current character 250 XP.

Diamond Gnomes: There are 3 in each region. They all require you to do a fairly challenging activity, a Puzzle, Gnomolith and a Parkour. After you have completed the respective challenge, you can then freely collect the Diamond Gnome. Once you have collected all of them, you can open the Mysterious Door in the Gnome Shrine and fight the region's Gnome Boss. Collecting one gives your current character 1,000 XP.

Medals: There are 50 medals to collect in each region. By collecting all of the medals, you can unlock everything in Otto Do's shop for purchase. Check your progress by checking your stats in the menu while in your respective free-roam region. These require you to do different quests or collect items, among other things, so be sure to check them out so you have an idea of what you need to do to get the medals.

Collectibles are nice to have in free-roam regions. While they can take a while to find and collect, they are worth the effort required. You are not required to fight enemies or do any extra quests in most circumstances, and the rewards you get for obtaining them are quite significant. I suggest using a character that has mobility and/or vertical abilities so you can get to other collectibles and hard to reach ones much more easily. Playing with friends, if this is possible, is also beneficial as your friends can collect the collectibles as well as you. They can also help you find the collectibles. Collectibles could take some effort to even find, but they are a one-time collect/use for each region and the rewards you gain from all of these are quite dang decent, and you are also able to grab exclusive items. So what are you waiting for? Go hunting. Good luck earning your collectible items waiting for you.

Thanks for listening/reading!

Regards
