Day area looks like nighttime

I just started playing PvZR, and when my wife came into the office, she thought I was in nighttime mode. I told her I'd wondered why it started there, but then realized there were suns dropping, and when I go back now it's in the Day area but looks so dark. There is no color to the shrubs, etc. Is there a setting I'm missing? It doesn't look like the old versions I played, or the Preview pics in Steam. Anyone else experienced this?
