Re: Could you please add the Steam Workshop to the remastered version?

You guys mentiones modding at Twitchcon positively so why not introduce a way for people to mod effectively by adding the steam workshop? This will allow people to mod replanted without accidentally pirating it and will make replanted worth it's $20 price tag.

    Hello!

As of writing, there are many artists, programmers, and composers all dedicated to creating fan content ("mods") by adding their own code to the original 2009 release of PvZ1. I've been hoping that PvZ Replanted engages mods by adding Steam Workshop support for the game.

This would allow mods to be more easily discovered and played, and hopefully keep the game alive for many years to come! (even after the development team has moved on to other projects)

Without the development of new content (in the form of mods), people may not engage with the franchise as regularly, which is why I think adding steam workshop support would be healthy for PvZ Replanted's shelf life!

Just for fun, I made a mockup of what this could look like!

Steam workshop would boost their sales and let's say someone wanna pirate the game, but then he sees the game has steam workshop, and he can only get steam workshop by purchasing the game

Honestly, adding Steam Workshop support to Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted would be a huge win. PvZ has always had a really creative community, and modding has kept the original game interesting for years. A Workshop would make it easy for players to share custom levels, new plants and zombies, balance tweaks, and small quality-of-life changes without needing to mess with files. That kind of content keeps people coming back and gives the game way more replay value. For the developers, it’s mostly upside: mods are optional, they keep the community active, and they can even inspire future updates. A lot of older games are still alive today because of Workshop support, and PvZ could easily be the same. It would make Replanted feel less like a cash grab and more like a game that can actually grow with its players over time.
