merge academy no longer accumulates spending money

Question

The latest update -- provides a timer, and apples, etc. has resulted in the game remains at zero -- after you deplete the allotment. Before it would reset automatically, one at a time. Now it remains at zero. This game is highly frustrating in the way it is designed to make you want to buy extra to progress through.

Is anyone else experiencing this. If this is not a glitch, and this is the way that this game will be played from now on -- I will give serious consideration to cancelling my account.
