- @cafedelon Most of us who enjoy playing computer games such as Pogo, are not computer geeks, and therefore often find it difficult to understand instructions such as what is given in the above response. We have been willing to pay to play along with our friends, however once this ability is taken away, I for one will go find another site which I can enjoy and not have to pay. It is hard to understand why it is so hard for our computer geeks to develop a gaming system at least somewhat like what Pogo had in the past.

@Kenblate, I totally understand what you are saying. It's time for me to get up on my soapbox again and make a long speech as I sometimes do. When I first started playing at Pogo there was a lot I didn't know about troubleshooting games here, because I assumed that was the job of the owner of this website, EA.
But as I learned quickly Pogo is not like most game sites. The games come from different companies so the owner (EA) does not have complete control over many of the games. We and they have to wait for the other game owners to correct problems that exist with their games.
Also each of us uses different computers, some with high performance, the latest software and lots of memory. Others have older computers without that. Those who have less "horsepower" in there computers tend to have more problems with the games, which is beyond the control of the owner of this website.
We don't all use the same browsers, and some work better than others. So people need some guidance on each one when they have problems. Many players believe its the problems caused by the games, when sometimes it's the browsers. Clearing the cache (memory) of a browser is one example. When it gets full, the games run slow, don't load, freeze or might kick a player out, all of which is the fault of full browser, not the games many times. EA can't clear the cache of our browsers. We have to do that because the information used by the browsers is stored on our computers.
I had many problems with my games here at first. I still have some problems. I was forced to learn how to troubleshoot the problems and read what others do to troubleshoot them. Its very unfortunate that we have to become troubleshooters to play the games here, but the website is set up that way. That will never change unless the games are totally under the control of EA, the owner. I've never seen a website that operates this way before where so many problems exist. EA won't like me for saying that but it's the truth "in my opinion". That is why there is this Answer HQ made available, where employees of EA and non-employee players help the players who are having problems. Either one can learn to tolerate it and stay, or decide to leave and find another website that offers similar games with hopefully less problems.
What makes matters much worse than before is that the old games made from Flash and Java code which have worked well on most computers and browsers are going away from the Pogo site. I think all will be gone by March if EA keeps with their plan to remove the remaining ones then. That's because the companies that developed the program code for those games (Adobe and Oracle) have announced they won't support Flash and Java after this year. And Microsoft, Google, Apple and Mozilla (makers of the major browsers) said they won't let their browsers access sites that use Flash and Java. So Pogo is in a state of change and turmoil right now, probably worse than any time before.
A lot of people most likely will leave this website. It wasn't perfect before, but the new Pogo website is going to be so different starting this year that many people, including myself, won't like a website that doesn't resemble what is familiar to us. Perhaps in time, many of the people who leave might start to come back first to see what it's like after changes have been made. Then maybe some will come back and stay after they have been away for a while. We'll just have to see what happens in time. I'm stepping down from my soapbox now. - @cafedelon Thank you for your insight. My wife and I are in our senior years, and when it comes to all this technical computer language, we are often left in the dark.. We enjoy the entertainment aspect but lack skills and patience to follow technical instructions meant to help us solve a .our issues. Your words are much appreciated. Keep your soapbox and use it as often as you need to. There are a lot of us older folks out here and like knowing that we are heard and thought about. Again - Thank You!
None of these tips apply to me. All the fixes you recommend, for the most part, are done weekly. I have plenty of RAM available. The problem is strictly Pogo's. This is not the only game that performs poorly on the early access site. I should not have to switch between browsers just to play a simple game. I have cancelled my subscription to Pogo because I have had so much trouble with the new site. Most of all, I just do not like the setup at all.
Thanks for your help.
Thank you for your help. I also use Windows 10, Chrome browser. The tips you have suggested have been done ad nauseam. I don't know why moderators always assume that the person playing the game is ignorant of how to keep their computer working properly. My RAM is more than adequate for these games. Pogo's "new and improved" site simply does not function well, regardless of how many games you were able to complete successfully. You should consider yourself extremely fortunate. This is not the only game that doesn't perform well on the new site.
