Quinn's Aquarium - losing gems

I rwxug72wtxki play Quinn's Aquarium a lot but, I will get through a game (by using my gems) and I get a message that says Something went wrong, try again.  This happens to me a lot and I keep losing gems.  You know that Gems cost money and I feel when this happens, you are stealing my money.  I would like to get my gems back when this happens.  Can you tell me how do I get my gems back?
