I am writing to express my serious concern regarding the recent Services 2.0 update in .
Since the update, cities that were previously stable are now facing major balance problems. Service buildings have become significantly more expensive, their coverage has been reduced, and many long-established cities are being forced into large-scale rebuilding just to maintain basic functionality. This has created unexpected challenges for players who have invested considerable time and effort into developing their cities.
These changes have disrupted the balance and stability of existing cities and negatively affected the overall gameplay experience. I respectfully request that your team review and rebalance the Services 2.0 system, especially with consideration for cities built under the previous system.
Resolving these issues is essential to maintaining game stability and preserving the trust and satisfaction of long-term players.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response and to improvements in future updates.
Sincerely,
Utshab Debnath

Absolutely correct. After almost 9 years of playing, with every inch of each fully expanded region carefully designed to make beautiful, attractive, fully functioning cities, this update would mean a complete redesign of the whole lot! Are you kidding me? I don't mind spending my simoleons to upgrade services, fine, but the fact that you can't upgrade them enough to cover the buildings that they used to cover is nuts!
It is like telling your F1 game players that all the engines in their car collections are back to basic and need upgrading but they will never reach the same power they had before.
My little police stations, fire stations and health clinics used to cover 13 residential buildings in pods. Now I can't upgrade them to do that anymore. After 9 years of designing and making it all fit. Who authorised this monumental mistake? EA, You're going to lose masses of income unless you fix this.

What a Disaster! Totally ruined a number of my cities. Drained all of my cash trying to update. As others have said, a lot of previous work was essentially destroyed by this stupid update. I’m strongly considering just ending my career with SimCity BuildIt. Upgrades are fine, as long as they are non-destructive - this one was definitely not so. Someone should lose their job over this….

I wonder if they are doing this in waves (maybe they even said they would, but I didn't understand how it would happen). What you described happened to my cities a few weeks ago, but today when I logged on, my cities were back to normal for the most part. They were all back at almost 100% happiness. With just a few tweaks needed. Maybe this was the necessary process needed to fully implement the 2.0 update?

You have 13 days to implement (grace period) after that your city will be ruined - very difficult to resolve expecially if you have a lot of omega building

Yep, my 13 days are up and after trying to make the necessary upgrades to my cities, I'm throwing in the SimCity towel. This is ridiculous and impossible!

Agreed.. spent 100s of thousands of neosims for over 200 omega buildings and they give a handful of upgradable buildings in return which are maxed which don't have same coverage. Have spent over 1 million neosims now and still am short of coverage as before.. regional buildings are the same.. more than 100,000 regional coins have been spent with not enough coverage.. I now have to delete homes and eventually redesign everything and have decided the time commitment to fix everything is definitely not worth it. The game has been completely ruined with this change.. absolutely disgusted after playing for over 10 years..

I am in agreement that the update is messing up the who system. It is not only a stability issue, and exhuberantly expensive, it is not well thought through. I have been playing SimCity Buildit since it started, but I think it is time to retire. It seems to be a way for EA to force more money out of players.

Hearing you loud and clear there. This is the worst update ever!

This just recently hit my cities. I jumped on here to see if other's experiences were the same, which evidently they are. I initially just noticed it on the fire, police, et al. That was somewhat manageable as it used regular currency and EA offset that a bit. Not so much with the utilities… This morning I just noticed it on all my utilities, power, water, etc. Likewise, I just burned through all my Omega currency and was able to upgrade only a small fraction of the needed services. I don’t care for Omega buildings so only have a handful, and therefore limited capacity to earn Omega currency. Like many others, I enjoy designing beautiful, cities over just cramming as many buildings on a finite grid to achieve the greatest population possible. II’ve been at this game too long to tear everything down and start over. This is the point where I move on to something else, unless EA does something to remedy this…

Have a look in your regions as well, you have to them also. I’ve spent well over 10million sims, countless omega and nowhere near being finished. This update is absolutely horrible for long time players.

Brilliantly put. This has been a disaster.
I initially refused to upgrade the services due to cost and the huge impact on Sim happiness. However, I have tried to do this now but have given up.
Not only is it costly, it’s ruining the design of my city and the upgrades don’t even work! You click “upgrade” and it changes some green buildings to red and vice versa. You then have to keep clicking upgrade which doesn’t work and costs you more money.
Someone really needs to unpick this awful decision.

I have spent millions trying to upgrade all my services and still cannot get the coverage for my cities this has totally ruined the game for me and made it pretty much unplayable. Another cash cow for EA as they want you all to upgrade to the Maxxis. 10 years play and seriously just considering deleting it all and giving up, thanks EA for nothing, too many adds and now a way of rinsing your loyal players. It’s nice to know that we are not just. Commodity to you - NOT!

I am very frustrated about this change. I've been playing the game for over 5 years and have been working on unlocking my final region, and now the whole thing is a disaster. I am probably going to quit playing over this.

I have also been playing for years I am now broke and services I used to have in storage that I used in design challenges are lost? I’m not even sure how to fix. As soon as I get a city back fully 100% I do a few challenges and everything is back to being the way I just fixed? No upgrade of buildings just a massive mess. And my city that’s full and the most active goes to black every time I try to move anything. This on a brand new I pad I bought to play. I’m also having user issues. I play on apple game play and that’s where city is saved but if I try to ask EA any ? It can’t log me on. I have to leave the game.
