It is not just "a forced penalty on veteran players", it's worse than that: it's a betrayal of long-time players who painstakingly optimized their cities. Now, players have to change everything that previously worked almost perfectly. EA has managed to frustrate all SimCity BuildIt players to the max! The game rules were changed mid-game. That's called cheating!
00Feelgood00 100% agree.
Changing the whole design of services without grandfathering some aspects for years long players or providing enough compensation in-game is wrong, in bad faith and a form of cheating - cheating your customers who've engaged with your product for a decade+. The hubris and absolute lack of addressing players loud concerns is horrible. Some of the feedback in this thread has been very specific and constructive and pragmatic but they won't even acknowledge it.
Over a month and not a word from them. They only asked for feedback as a performative gesture. They will reap what they've sown.
