2.0 sucks big time

Playing for 11 years 29.300.000 inhabitants 100% satisfied until this disaster of an upgrade landed yesterday. I and am sure many others will stop playing if this isn’t corrected quickly. E.A. just acknowledge your mistake

  • I once had three cities. 2/3 of the got the services 2.0 update, and my third city - the level 99 city had yet to get the services 2.0 update. I was stressed out about it, and then the change of season passes to three weeks just sent me over the edge. I calmly deleted all three cities nearly a week ago.

I don't miss the game at all. I have a lot more free time suddenly and it's nice to realize life still exists and I no longer have to think about grinding to keep up in the CoM.

Best recommendation I can offer anyone is to just delete your city / cities and just enjoy life. There are other games out there. It was hard to let go, but I can breathe again.

As it turns out, that is PRECISELY what the designers are aiming for. Sabotage and making users delete the game/app before their new owners take over and likely lay off people; a private Saudi Arabian hedge fund, led by the Saudi crown prince. As this controversy grows into epic proportions over the next couple of weeks, I suspect you'll see it on the big news agencies soon enough.

Over 10+ years of playing this game and the new Services 2.0 upgrade is terrible! Forcing players to update, buy and some even rebuild cities that were ALREADY fully updated and working is maddening and shows no empathy for customers and players of the game. Previous unwanted changes such as railroad Transportation, shortening or lengthing challenges and contests too time to adjust after complaints but this one causes people to abandon what was once a great game. EA NEEDS to reverse and fix this bad decision fast!

Your point being? I'm not sure what response you want from me, and quite honestly, there are more controversial things happening in the world than just private equity takeovers of publicly traded entities. If it does make the news, I don't think I'll care enough to notice, sorry. If EA is seriously aiming to force people to quit playing their games and resume having a normal life, I encourage every tech company to follow the same path, might improve the world.
