Are the developers active?

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time of reading my post. After browsing the forums to see what is happening with the development of this (awesome) game I noticed that a lot of people experience the same 'issues' as me. I am trying to read official responses from Electronic Arts representatives, but I rarely see them reply. Also with the update 1.5 I was hoping to see fixes of the major issues I am experience, but sadly this was a 'small fix'-patch. When I read an official message from one of the community managers I don't get the feeling they realize what the users are struggling with or find frustrating.

The issues I am having with the game (just like many of you):

- The Global HQ for trade is not working properly. I spent over 45 minutes yesterday just to get 1 item;

- It takes to much time to make a decent amount of money to even progress in the game;

- Android users that don't connect to Facebook/Google have no chance of getting friends / trade and get that achievement related to friends;

- Lack of news/announcements for new content/area's and what the development team is doing;

- The ''freemium'' model in this game is broken. I need to spend €8,- to get a small park in my city. For that €8 I can buy 3 games on Steam when it is on sale. You don't get value for your money.

I am writing this message mainly in the hope of a reply from one of the community managers / Electronic Arts representatives in order to let us know what they will do with these issues. Are the developers still planning to release (major) updates for the game, fix the issues most of us are experiencing and do you even gather the feedback given by the community. I really hope for a reply and an ETA on this, since yesterday I was on the edge of deleting this game after browsing the broken Global HQ for 45 minutes! I also know that the chances of getting a respond on this topic from an official Electronic Arts representative is just as high as getting an item of the Global HQ in Simcity Build It. (which is zero to none)

Hope to hear from you soon anyhow!

  • I doubt you will see any significant change to global HQ any time soon. The problem with it is not something that can be done in a reasonable amount of time from a players perspective. As a developer myself the system they have in place is not able to handle the activity it encurs. And as such that is why we as players percieve the problems we have.

    The key to gaining simoleons is utilizing all of the available ways of getting them. Coin popup, building upgrades, freight ship, selling stuff to others. And if you have the patience buy and resell in the global HQ. Destroy 2 or 3 buildings if you have no more upgrades to do. You should be getting plenty of simoleons if you are doing most of these things.

    As for the friends system I don't use it so I can't comment there. And news/announcements it is my experience that most game companies don't say much about anything until the content is either on the verge of release or released. I don't know what EAs medium for releasing info is but it most definately doesn't appear to be the forum. It is one complaint I have of just about every game company out there. They want to use obsure places like facebook, twitter, etc to make announcements when they have an official cite that should be where that stuff is put. And I'm simply assuming that if they are announcing any info at all it must be in some 3rd party medium.

    And for your last bullet point. Buying readily obtainable game currency for real world cash is not the way to spend money on a game if you decide to spend money on a game. Designers know this and they make the exchange rate the way they do because of that reason. They know if you are lazy enough to not take the little effort in the game to earn the currency then you are going to be willing to pay the rate to buy it. But rather than have that minority of players complain they can't buy currency they include it to make them happly. My advice is take the time to earn simoleons in game.
