Building Arrangement Advice

Question

Can anyone post suggestions for the best location for particular buildings/shops?

I was particularly wondering about those Commercial Buildings.. is it more beneficial to place them between the residential buildings?

You get the occasional speech bubble telling you how much they like living next to the [whatever] store, but my commercial buildings are mostly in a clump away from residential buildings and I have 100% happiness, so it doesn't seem to make much difference.

Quite why they're all so happy in a city where there's nothing to eat except vegetables and doughnuts is another matter...

Each persons design is up to them. However, for the commercial buildings keep in mind they don't require health, fire or police coverage. What I did was put them all in one location so I don't have to cover them with those services.

Thanks..But I was wondering if the placement of these commercial buildings in between residential buildings would attract more Sims or increase the sims happiness etc
