You get the occasional speech bubble telling you how much they like living next to the [whatever] store, but my commercial buildings are mostly in a clump away from residential buildings and I have 100% happiness, so it doesn't seem to make much difference.
Quite why they're all so happy in a city where there's nothing to eat except vegetables and doughnuts is another matter...

Pizza, hamburgers, and ice cream sandwiches seem to make the difference. Plus they can drive to the next city over to find a regular grocery store.... 😕mileyhappy:
