Contest of Mayors - Number of Plumbob Points

For most of my assignments I get between 870 and 1080 point. I had 2 assignments worth 2000 points and the initial one was 1500. I am now on my last possible assignment and will end up with around 12000 points (I always played the ones with more points). The leading person in my league currently has over 22000 points. How can this be? Are there assignments worth many more points than what I have seen? How do I get them? Pure luck?

In my league (all Level 55 or 56) I ended up at 13th place with about 25K. The top spot is taken by a player with 30K. Place 21 (the first not being promoted) has 23K.

I always chose the highest assignments, usually 900-1200 points. I had three assignments worth 2-3K, nothing larger. I constantly had about 5 assignments worth less than 700.

Yes, I am promoted, but I doubt that I will get Platinum Keys if I keep being that unlucky with my assignments. Thanks to the increased number of assignments, the variance in the possible number of points is slightly smaller. However, your final rank in the competition should not depend on luck, only. It is very frustrating that there was absolutely no chance for me to get more points.

There is definitely something fishy going on I totaled ALL the points I had available if I had been able to complete EVERY assignment and still fell short of what my groups winner supposedly generated in only 20 assignments and he finished at least 24hrs earlier than anyone else. In fact my group had 4 players who exceeded by best possible score in 20 assignments and 2 of my highest point tasks appeared as my last 2 tasks when there was no chance for me to have enough time to complete them, so I had to concede about 1200 pts and complete the lower value tasks which had been the highest value available at the time I had prepared for them.

check the screenshots attached of the standings and remaining uncompleted tasks with only hours remaining. The lowest value task I remember completing was worth 900pts. So it is abundantly clear I never had a chance to win!  These contest require a tremendous commitment and totally change the play of this game, but if they are not fair and equitable they may end up driving me from the game entirely.

Fair? Hardly... In a real contest, I should be able to compete on a level playing field.

In this weeks contest, in the Suburban league, I completed all 20 assignments. I only chose the high reward assignments. Most were in the 1000 - 1440 point range, with one 2000 pointer. I finished 9th at 25890 points. The winner in our round finished with 33670 points. That's a 7780 point spread between 2 users, one of which (and most likely both) chose ALL high reward assignments.

Contest? Hardly! This is a gamble at best.

This contest is silly and stupid because the point system is rigged funny, I particularly chose very high scoring tasks and scored first place with 2 days to spare so now all I had to do was sit and watch as the competition got these other high scoring tasks that were never offered....hey what gives?

if a player finishes first, it is not fair game to see that they are unable to defend their lead if the jobs were unequal to every other player, I got bumped to 5th place , all those who were lagging behind get a chance to catch up just because I finished my tasks with time to spare doesn't sound like a fair contest of skill. The high score tasks were also not offered for the early birds so if you Finish what you thought was a high score series of task and you did it early , this contest will cheat you!

people who actually finish first with time to spare should continue to do more jobs at least if they want to finish a time based race game and ensure a competitive lead....this contest will only get worst as more players get burned even though they chose what they thought was the hardest high paying series of tasks.

Last week I finished 2nd overall, even though all 10 of my assignments were the highest points available and I still finished around 4000 points behind the leader. I also noticed that everyone in my league was from a different level. Both these issues have been mention d previously by other mayors. I have included screen shots to illustrate my situation

With 5 hours into the new contest, how is it possible that the leader has over 16,000 points. I chose the highest point total available as my first assignment, 3 deliveries to Paris, worth 2400. I have completed 1 and am waiting to for the plane to reload. Consequently I have 0 points so far.

To amass 16,000 points so far, that is an average of over 3000 points per hours. How many speed up tokens and sim dollars would be needed to earn that many plumb on points?

Is there "something rotten in Denmark" going on here?
