Epic project "transfer project" question

Can anyone clarify for me... Before starting an epic project there are two options:
Change specialization and transfer epic project.
I believe change specialization would be from say going from beach project to transportation project. What I want to know is what transfer epic project is? I assumed it would be that it would select a different building style but last time I did it which by the way cost more simoleons it did not change the building style but instead changed the specialization. Any responses would be appreciated, see screenshot

I've wondered about this as well. I assumed that "transfer project" just meant targeting a different building. It seems as if the 2 things, where the building is and what the specialization is, would be tied together. A beach project can't be done on a building too far from the beach.

So I have an additional question. If the beach is your best area (with the most 2 and 3 point buildings), wouldn't it make sense to move the completed project buildings away from the beach to free up more buildings for that specialization? Or does the software keep track, regardless of where the buildings end up?

  • Arcadia, I do know you can move the completed building to free up beach space. I do it all the time and it works fine. My concern is last time I clicked the "transfer project" which I though jut assigns a different building style to build, actually it transferred to a different specialization whic I don't think it is supposed to do

"Change specialization" changes the project type. i.e. change from beach to transportation

"Transfer epic project" changes the location to another maximum tier residence building (unless you have no other maximum tier residences left).

  • Thank you so much so just to clarify if I have a beach epic project and I chose to transfer would it automatically select another beach project just a different building? And when one does do an epic transfer will it also change the finished building design style ( hopefully you understand what I mean on this last question)
    Thanks

If you choose "transfer", the game will randomly choose another fit building, which could be of the same or different specialization (if you have only one appropriate for an epic upgrade building, then you'll be stuck with this spot forever! But you can switch buildings around, so from one spot you theoretically will be able to upgrade all skyscrapers of your city 🙂)

The final design of the epic construction will be dependent on specialization, and among the available styles of this specialization will be selected randomly as well.
