Features I’d pay for
Suggested User Settings and Tiered Feature Options
I would like to see additional user-controlled settings introduced in SimCity BuildIt, potentially offered through a tiered subscription or payment model. These options would give long-term players more control over how they experience the game.
1. Disable War and Disasters
Provide an option to turn off war and disaster features, both in regular gameplay and the Contest of Mayors. Some players choose not to engage with these mechanics, yet are repeatedly prompted to complete related assignments. After many years of play, this becomes frustrating rather than engaging.
2. Optional Train System
Allow players to disable or opt out of trains. The current implementation feels incomplete, with limited station coverage across regions and very low rewards for transporting passengers. Train upgrades require a large number of cards, often taking months to collect unless real money is spent, which discourages casual and long-term players alike.
3. Additional Land Expansion
Once all land is unlocked and fully built, gameplay becomes stagnant. Many players own dozens of unique or limited-edition buildings but have no space to place them. Additional land expansion or alternative placement options would significantly extend end-game engagement.
4. Expanded Friends and Social Limits
Increase the number of friends a player can add. Long-standing club members often wish to stay connected beyond current limits, especially after years of cooperative play.
5. In-Game Media Sharing for Clubs
Add the ability to share screenshots or short videos within club chat. Even better would be simple markup or annotation tools, as text-only chat is too limited for asking questions, giving advice, or showcasing city designs.
6. Lockable Layers and Objects
Introduce the ability to lock layers or specific objects in place. This would prevent accidental movement of buildings, rivers, parks, and other decorative elements once a layout is finalized. Being able to lock these items while collecting NeoSimoleons or Epic speed-up tokens would significantly reduce frustration and protect carefully designed cities.
7. The automatic recognition for unrequired beach and mountain items.
This shouldn’t need to be a paid feature, but at my level I’m quite willing to pay a small amount.
The global depot is flooded with items that are not needed such as 12 to 14 out of 20 global trade depot slots full of Mountain and Beach items. Once we have built our mountains and beach areas, we do not require them anymore. What’s more the flooding of these items into the global trade depot completely puts players off, looking for items that they may need to progress their game.
These are the primary suggestions for now, though many other players will undoubtedly have additional ideas. While SimCity BuildIt already offers premium purchases for in-game advantages, introducing tiered game settings focused on control and customization would greatly improve the experience for dedicated players.
