Game freezes every 45 seconds for 18 seconds

  • Gameplay is fine for 45 seconds and then there are 4 brief freezes during an 18 second period.
  • This started when Mayor's Pass Super Services 3 began on February 18, 2026.
  • This has been repeating non-stop 24 hours a day since the season started.
  • I am playing on an iPhone 14 with iOS v18.7.3.
  • 18.7.3---- Do you use game mode?

    If so, try without.

After that, I suspect you may need to update to iOS 26

I changed two things at once so I am not completely sure if it was the upgrade to iOS 26 or not, but that probably was it.

I actually replaced my iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 18.7.3 with a new iPhone 17 Pro Max which is running iOS 26.3. The issue has not occurred once with the new phone and latest version of iOS.

I did not disable game mode, but will try that if I have any performance issues in the future.

I do wonder if the game attempts to download additional assets every 45 seconds which could cause performance issues on older systems.

    Thanks for the help.

Well, the making the iOS current is the likely solution for your situation.

Game mode has recurring issues when overheating (resources getting worked to the max, especially during prolonged play).

Your suspicion is likely correct about additional assets, but not necessarily the game (those occur during the updates).

However, if you encounter any lag, freezing or crashing...

Consider going to *Settings --> General --> Background Apps Refresh... If it is on, turn it off.

This is another culprit to performance issues.
