Longtime player, dealt with multiple “bad updates” but I’m officially unable to play my main city due to pink pixel dots when I try to move anything. All my other cities are playable, however the main city, I cannot breakthrough. Before when this would happen, (freezing, black screens) I was able to restart and the problem went away, now it’s been multiple days and nothing has worked. Tried offloading, everything is up to date, zooming in, I’ve tried it all... I’m concerned because my main city will be destroyed once the grace period for redesigning services ends.. I can see multiple issues on this topic but how can we get some help??? This may be the end of gameplay if they cannot get this problem fixed. I would do anything if I couldn’t delete things. Lol send help!!!

This is a long-standing problem: iOS game incompatibility, and EA hasn't found a solution. The solution is to get an Android device. That's what I did.

I bought an iPad 10th generation specifically to play this game as my old iPad had issues with it. I certainly will not buy another machine, especially after the unwanted services 2 update. EA needs to get a competent programmer to sort it out for all the iOS people.

Thx for posting. I was considering doing the same but if the problems continue on the newest iPad, no reason to do so. My 7th gen has no issues with any other apps.

Actually, it wouldn't be on EA's part. Apple continues to prove that they make their devices obsolete more rapidly than Android. Planned obsolescence.

I definitely agree.. apple has always struggled with sims in particular, to never been quite right.. so I suppose is an android the only way to play?

All of the research I am coming across suggests these issues are the result of throttling and occur in many generations of iPhone/iPad.
Although, your device is still supported by Apple, you will likely continue to see increased performance issues.
To test, try playing on different WiFi networks or between WiFi and Mobile Data. If the issue improves, it's the server.
If it does not improve, your device is slowly no longer meeting system requirements for the game.
Further, game mode has been shown to have recurring problems (despite its intent) especially when overheating.
I hope this helps.

Sadly I only have a “Wi-Fi” iPad. I’ve never played on my phone before, so I might try that to see if I can at least get my capitol fixed with the new service update.. and hope there is some sort of relief for us iPad users (seems that it’s really an issue with iPads) I wish it was as simple as “delete this so and so building and you’re good” but seems to be a much bigger problem.

This game on iPad takes up 2 gigs but on a phone only 400 mb. Operating system for iPad is almost a 1/3 of its capacity. Apple for some reason uses a lot of gigs for it to work. I have a 64gig iPad and a 128gig one and I removed a lot of old games that I don’t play any longer. Also I do a off load once a week and reinstall plus delete all web data, I get almost 1 gigs of free space by doing it

I have been telling people to try playing without game mode...
Then, I've received confirmation that has helped along with...
*Settings--> General--> Background App Refresh... If it is on, turn it off.
Then, let me know.
