We're talking about an old game originally designed for Android which has never been 100% matched to iOS, integrated, but not matched.
Due to Apple's design and strict use of RAM and background apps, every update becomes a hassle for trouble shooting.
What I am finding (especially, with A-Series devices) the game is GPU heavy and Apple devices are not forgiving.
Due to Apple's design and the game's design your device is bottlenecking faster than Android or M-Series (tablets and Mac).
So, if you have done everything I've suggested so far
- Game mode off
- Background Apps refresh disabled
- Have up to 15 GB of storage available
- Offload/reinstall
- Force restart... This will reset memory whereas a shutdown keeps working memory where it's at.
Finally, any adjustments to display/resolution, brightness and turning off any battery optimizers/low power mode settings would be beneficial.
