Thanks for the explanation as to why it’s doing what it does.
Someone in another thread suggested it’s a “VRAM is exhausted and GPU is artifacting. It is a hardware problem through and through.”
- but why is it only doing it with one app! It’s clearly a conflict isolated to the game and ios.
Okay so I tried all the steps you suggested but the game still pink pixels out.
I’ve contacted EA and gone through their help never ending circle and am waiting for their bot reply in a few days asking if I still need help and deciding whether to go round that help circle for the 6th time or just to forget it, nike my city and be done with it.
I agree, there is a conflict between the game and iOS. But, consider the following before nuking everything.
There are so many variables involved. The picture I am attaching shows a brief but non-exhaustive diagram and explanation of everything involved to make the game function. Any interruptions along the diagram can result in any number of issues not exclusive to the server.
Pink pixelation occurs when the GPU (for whatever reason) cannot process the data effectively for a clear picture.
I recently downloaded a new game and I cannot play for very long, it keeps freezing. SimCity works on my device, but the new game doesn't.
While SimCity is designed for multiple devices (across time as it is an old game), the new game uses current technology and is designed for newer devices. I can't play the new game because my device is old.
The same thing happens with updates to existing games and systems. Newer technology can make what was working no longer function properly.
