I’ve been getting the upgrade city storage task in CoM yet I am completely maxed out on city storage (1100 without any temporary enhancements).
This has ruined my com last week (got this three times and had to cancel each time) and it’s already come up twice this week.
I’ve seen this bug a few times in the last few years. What gives?

Is your new Material Storage maxed out as Well? Have you added the Material Storage additions to your regions.
What is the new material storage max? My materials storage capacity is at 593... and I see no reason to upgrade. And why do we need to add the material storage buildings? I see absolutely no point in placing these buildings. In fact, I wish EA would stop with al the "needed buildings".
I too get the upgrade storage capacity assignment. I just ignore it, I think it's a bug that needs to be ironed out.

Materials storage is maxed. Also if you look it specifically says city storage with an icon that specifically is for item storage not materials. This is a bug.
I read somewhere that you use the same task to expand your city storage as well as your material storage. the next time it pops up give it a try.
