Forum Discussion
We just had 2 wars in a row against hackers/ cheaters whatever, from Turkey and Serbia. It’s really disturbing seeing them attacking endlessly with building portal/ Building portal/ shield buster/ etc. (Yes that last short term feature is just ridiculous- another weapon in hackers’ hands). We couldn’t even play at all!! 24h/day they were always there like robots.
Although we reported some of them (you can’t take screenshots of 22-23 accounts and send them all, it’s impossible) we got the same answer over and over again- your report has been sent to the team etc etc etc. It makes me wonder seriously if the team works on that issue or if there are so many illegitimate players out of control that is almost impossible to handle anymore.
I know that due to rules and regulations of the game we can’t get a feedback, but the problem still remains and we have never seen hackers/cheaters being booted out during our wars, as other players have mentioned in this forum.
Anyway, we still love this game, but sometimes it gets me wonder: shall I continue playing SimCity or not? Obviously I will, but I’m never gonna spend a cent on war packs again until this issue is taken care of. Or maybe we should all just quit playing for a particular period of time to send the message that enough is enough.
Thank you for your attention.
@1457699360Need to report at start. Right when matched up. And maybe need to be top 200 till they listen.
Dont need to send all of them. Send one of a team members, and a screen shot of team code. Send pics of weapon level and avg score and name, and again one with team code.
The more of you do it the better. We arent sure what actually works. We just hope

Had one booted from other team. One seems more like a hacker but isnt doing much now. We are up 800k to 100k

It’s really sad that this thread designed to consider unique potential solutions to the hacking/cheating issue has simply eroded to just another war gripe session and an update on the latest war...like so many other threads.
- 6 years ago@PinnacleValley I am glad there are active people here looking for change. It's like trying to change a government.
Seems we know the reality is all in reporting players and hoping for the best
If that doesn't sum it up. I dont know what does.
They could change everything we have talked about. But doesnt seem they respond to, or are working on them. Maybe they are. We dont know - 6 years ago
@Duckups You started the thread “Here we go again” specifically focused on the war games and how your club reported prior to the start of a war game hackers/cheaters (which is ironic) and shared how well that worked for your club...which is great. As no one else that I’m aware of has seen any where close too that success (including others in the 50 to 300 range) I felt it was time to address the problem differently and thus “Let’s try something different” was started to actually discuss alternative solutions and address the problem systematically - trying to be somewhat creative and encouraging intelligent folks to think beyond where we are today...sadly it’s become here we go again which solves absolutely nothing.

Maybe we should be given a new feature, to be able to cancel the war within the first 5-6’ of the preparation phase, with a small penalty of 5-10 points on the global leaderboard. This is enough time to have a quick look at your opponents and figure out if they have hacked accounts...
By this way we could avoid having all these disturbing wars/ living nightmares against hackers that really ruin our days and nights... no one is ever booted, they just humiliate us & we can’t even score for our chests.
Let the hackers fight each other...😉 - 6 years ago
@1457699360 That is certainly creative and different, well done. My question is if you can tell before war starts there’s a hacker in play why can’t EA? What specifically should they be looking for and how can they implement an automated feature to check for that?
- 6 years ago@PinnacleValley All hackers have similar characteristics- low or medium war rank (between 30-40), very high average score (above 110k points), magnetism as their favourite attack, and specific weapons highly upgraded (13-15 level, magnetism and shield buster while all the other weapons are low e.x. level 1-4).
Especially when all these are combined, it’s surely a hacker. You can also check their cities- if their population or their experience level is low, then they might be hackers.
One last thing: if you see a player with magnetism level 4 or 5, who has an average of 200k-300k points, then is it a legitimate player?? Of course not!!! Then why is he still there?? Well, this is a question EA should answer (still haven’t seen one after my last report...)☹️ - 6 years ago
@1457699360 What you just shared are all measurable parameters war rank <50 / average score >110k / high level / magnetism >13 /Shield Buster > 13. These should be simple to measure and anyone that meets these factors should immediately be subject to review. That should be easy enough to do...if they’re Innocent no harm, if they aren’t shame on them.
The last item you shared seems so blatantly obvious it should immediately send up red flags...why it doesn’t makes no sense at all.

@1457699360we see war levels like 10 to 20, who only use low rank mags with 100k avg score. I call em hackers in training
But yes. I dont know what EA looks for.
I wouldnt mind a button. We may never get a fair team again. Haha.
They would quit knowing they would lose, which wouldn't really be fair
But. Finding an all fair team is rare. Last "fair" team we met all had second cities like some of us. So. Fair is fair when equal.
Any who. We would of dropped the last team we fought, but we won huge. We get a good start we almost cant lose. Hasnt happened really. It's the feeder wars we do that keep us back. But needed to win against the teams we face. Thiugh... yeah. I think we over use stuff after we won already.
The top keep moving up. Not sure why the top teams arent on hacker island
Feel ea should look into top 20 on their own just as a courtesy - 6 years ago
There may be a totally legal hack people use to win com with, someone I know is trying it to see
All these hackers may hot be if it works. Ps. It's not me, i score 3 to 8k mostly
- 6 years ago
Yep, it's weird but it works. Not illegal at all, yet game changing. I wont even explain it. But he is winning megalopolis easily. That is why they dont get booted. Wish I could say more. It's more a game thing than a cheat.
@Duckups Hacking by definition is always Illegal unless you have explicit (verbal and written) authorization from the developers and the person who owns the server. So regardless how you want to spin it...it is unacceptable whether you have some success and you’re able to get away with it for now or not. Game play method where you win Megalopolis easily - not illegal at all (?) ...why can’t you say more if it’s legal?

@PinnacleValleyCause its dumb, and dont want to put dumb ideas in people's heads. I dont know how many people actually read this, lol. But you can find it online. .
Its changing your city. That is all. I think the biggest hint is. You cant see the cities of those you are competing with. So no one can see it. Though... after looking. I think it be obvious from their stats... so yeah. Not sure it's worth saying. But I get to see if it works from someone else. It's not something I would do cause it's just dumb. But every person can do it easily. Just dont want to be responsible if someone does it and it turns out it doesnt actually work. No going back easily. Lol. - 6 years ago
@Mahler1989 @BlazinsZ Seems they fixed the factory ad in the latest update! Now we have a "cancel" button. We can cancel it before ad starts and play at the factory we want. The number of the ads remain the same even if you cancel it. (if you "stop" the ad, itll be counted as 1 ad) They still pop up automatically which is a bit inconvinient, but now we have some control. I still think pay players should have this ads though.
I really like the update. Made me feel that EA is listening players voice.
