I've had one for a month or so (I both tried to save my sim cash and bought some to make it there faster) and I'd say it's worthwhile. It covers a nice amount of space as fire, police, and health combined, while it also sells you, for a high price, one Vu item every 24 hours. Also, I've never had a problem with it crashing my device but I do play on a year old IPad Pro so couldn't say how it is on a phone or different tablet.
It depends what are your plans.If you want to win couple leagues without spending real money it is must have due to lack of vu items.
If you are aiming in high population city it is must have due to space savings. I dont see any other reason to spend so much simcash. I have 3 maxis and now trying to save to buy 4th. Remember that price for them increase after you buy so first cost 1000 2nd 2000 3rd 4000 and guess how much the last one.
