Ok, think I figured the selling system out. First thing: DO NOT fill all the slots in Trade Depot. Once you put items in they jump on the top of the list. After some time they naturally drop as other players add their stuff. So, do it slower. If you feel your stuff dropped put and advertise another one. I believe this action make all of your items go back on the top of the list. I was trying this way for the last two days and it seems to be working.
good luck and happy new year
- Anonymous11 years agoI like your theory, but in eventuality, my trade depot will fill up, and I'll be stuck again. I waited two hours between listing items this morning, and nothing seems to have moved, despite low prices and high demand. The concept of one global trade depot is flawed, as there are certain items which are not unlocked, and are not visible to everyone. You're not going to see all items for sale, all the time. I believe it's an issue with the advertising itself. I'd like to know how often your sale item is populated on the board, once time has passed, and no one buys. Is it constantly refreshed every five minutes until it's sold? It's not like suddenly no one is buying seeds this morning. Make some noise, people. Eventually EA will address this.
- Anonymous11 years agoWould be nice if we could adjust the price after it goes up and that might trigger it getting readvertised.. I'm stuck right now with a full allotment and all advertised since yesterday.
- Anonymous11 years ago@Gatorby - I'm almost willing to wager half my inventory that if you purchase a new slot on your trade depot, it'll trigger the advertising, and your product will move. I know it's an unfair solution to the problem, but it seems to work, even if only temporarily.
- Anonymous11 years agoUpdate: I expanded my inventory, bought something off the global trade depot, and listed a new item. This seemed to trigger the advertising, and my items for sale moved in a matter of seconds. Just posting this in an attempt to help out the others.
- Anonymous11 years ago@dancyclist - I tried purchasing an extra slot and it didnt seem to help. Very frustrating! I sell maybe two or three items per day max and everything is high end items priced well below market value. This is an excellent thread and I hope everyone reads it end to end including the EA staff.
The only stop gap solution I can see for now is to develop an extensive and active friend list to trade with and stop advertising completely. Let our own local marketplaces develop and boycott the global trade network. Shopping would be more of a hassle as we would be forced to visit our friends individually but it would be feasible if your group of friends would agree to download a third party chat app like LINEapp to coordinate and place orders. Sounds complicated but it is possible.
For now I recommend posting in angeldelacruz's thread "Game Center ID's" with your GC ID and find friends to trade with. Add me ID "crapperjack01"
I'm also on LINEapp my ID there is just "crapperjack" if you want to join me there I am going to start a new group "SimCity Buildit". All are welcome.
Cheers,
CJ - Anonymous11 years agoAs luck would have it, LINEapp appears to be an iOS based application, and I'm using a droid. I'd love to create a network of trading commerce as a semi-permanent workaround to this issue, I'm quite dedicated to the game. Feel free to direct message, however. I'm checking this board quite frequently.
- Anonymous11 years agowhen one posts hammers en bricks for good prices and they dont get sold, one knows something is wrong..
EA people DO read this, so please respond and tell us what is going on.. - Anonymous11 years agoit is actually not that strange that EA doesnt respond.. clear fact it costs us simcash to expand room in the trade centre and/or it costs us simcash to delete unsold items..
we all know simcash is rare.. and it can be bought with real money..
so EA has advantage of the problems.. or... we should all quit the game.. - Indys2nd11 years agoHero (Retired)
I've added items with a cheaper price, I've deleted some hoping it might cause the others to work. So far nothing gets bought that I place there. Just about ready to give up putting things for sale in global. I wonder though if it depends on how many neighbors you have in the game. Maybe they are the ones who are supposed to buy it quicker.
I'm curious too how this is supposed to work.
