SomeSimGuy, What's up with the android? I'm on an iPhone 6, love it. Just curious, are there differences in this game between android, iPhone or computer? And what? Did they not get the wwf update?
No, us android users do not get the WWF stuff. I did a bit of research on it last night. It was an IOS only update due to the fact that they worked with Apple's App store as a go-between between EA and WWF. WWF actually gets paid by the App Store. In order for it to be incorporated into Android they would have had to work with Google in the same fashion. Google and Apple are competitors in this fashion and getting 2 competitors to work together even for a good cause would have been an impossible feat, so it was released only for Apple products.
At least that is how I understood it from reading the details on the release. It came up in one of the facebook groups with some (few) individuals wanting to file formal complaints about android being discriminated against, but it's all for charity and they're making a big deal out of nothing. That's where I went to researching the how's and the why's of the deal. I can live without it and still be happy with my game.
Although, someone did come up with a work around that does work, but it involves getting your hands on an apple device. In this case, they transferred their game to an Apple device. bought the WWF products then transferred their game back to an Android phone and it worked. They got to keep all of the WWF items and function as if they had bought it under Android. They contacted EA about it and posted EA's response, which was nothing short of being a good way around them not being able to release it under both platforms. If someone wishes to do so, they have EA's blessing to do it.
Speaking of differences between Android and Apple devices. I'm noticing that Apple products seem to have better graphics than Android. I think I am also noticing a trend with the Mayor's contest and final score results, although I would need more data to confirm that. I've seen my game in town league the leader had around 39,000, However, other people, yourself included, have posted scores that far beat that by as much 20,000. The people that show the higher scores all seem to be on Apple products, where the Android users have a lower, more respectable top number compared to everyone else in the same league. At least everyone else that's actively vying for that top spot.
I'm wondering if this can be the difference between those with outrageous scores and those with respectable scores in their leagues. Like I said though, I would need more data to prove this from the Android side. I've seen enough from the apple side to say that those scores are high, but I'd like to see more from android users to see if they're all around or close to what mine have been.
