No to shield buster
I write this as a loyal Sims buildit player. Spend countless hours and real dollars. Sims does not care about us. We give them our time and money. And they slap us in the face, while forcing us to c...
shield buster is not good
@yuhhboii33 You are absolutely correct I am full of it, the aggravation, frustration, boredom, etc. that comes from playing the turtle teams...before you go all PERIOD perhaps it would be wise to understand exactly what the “strategy” is - simply put it is a race to the bubble with the lead and hide for the rest of the war...this strategy has caused hundreds to leave this game and many to go on sabbatical in hopes EA will fix the game. Using the bubble to rebuild your city and coordinate your teams attack is definitely part of real strategic planning but your mission is to come out and fight the war rather than hide for hours like a scared 2 year old (no offense to 2 year olds intended)...you stated you do not sit under the shield very long which is in complete contradiction to the “strategy” - so what are you saying?
Perhaps it would be worth your time to read the thread on time to shift the paradigm...not for what I wrote but for what a couple of mayors who have been to the pinnacle of the game have shared...you also will learn that I think the shield busters are not a solution but a least it’s somewhat of a vale admission that perhaps allowing the “strategy” was a misstep.
There used to be 3 ways to play war:
1. Casually, not caring about the outcome
2. Good strategy at the start
3. Hack
Because of shield buster method #2 is now dead. War will now cultivate players who don’t care or who are hackers. Game over for the competitive, legit player.
@NerfProbe Since I’m not sure what you’re referencing with #2 I’m assuming you are speaking of the turtle strategy where you race to the bubble and hide for the balance of war...if so you categorized it correctly as a number 2. After all the shield buster was designed to address this “strategy” and there is nothing competitive about it accept the foot race...legit, not where I come from. That being said EA must address the hacker issue...as far as the strategy boys are concerned you brought this upon yourself. If you are a player similar to what @yuhhboii33 described that he was, I have great sympathy for you...the legitimate competitors who come to compete in what they signed up for, not watch paint dry. If I misinterpreted what you meant by #2 please help me understand and I will extend my apologies.
Pinnacle I respect you but you wrong on this one. Going into dome was “checkmate” in war. The starts especially A5 top wars could go for 12 plus hours battling boosts (umbrella) dodging dud, - yes trying to win as a team with STRATEGY. And we could beat card and parts hackers with determination and strategy.
i fully understand frustration in lower arenas of domed teams due to inactivity omg frustrating.
the solution was a surrender button. Wars are too long. 12 hour prep, 36 hours war, 12 hour cooldown - for sure I understand the frustration! When someone is checkmated in chess you don’t handcuff to the board and force them look at it more than a day!
the biggest error is making shield buster an attack it should have been a boost. As a boost it’s activations capped by arena activation limits secondly it uniquely defeats another boost - umbrella. It is so WEONG any attack defeat a boost. All the problems flow from there...
and the issue a surrender button to shorten war is still worthy and commonsense and deserves a reply from EA / T20
Frankly speaking, you didn’t exactly play it fairly with the use of your feeder cities. The primary difference between you and hackers is they outright cheat to get the advantage while you exploit the loopholes to get the advantage. All top teams use feeder cities and feeder clubs because it is much easier to get all the resources needed as compared to using only one city.
And this talk about using shields to fight hackers ... it should be EA actively doing their part to nab those cheaters instead of players exploiting a fundamental flaw in system to fight the cheaters. Two wrongs doesn’t make a right.
As Pinnacle had written, EA should be focusing on sussing out those cheaters.
Thanks to shield buster, I had just fought an awesome war, in which I lost lol Its awesome because my opponents are aggressive, not some lame ducks that hide most of the time. Without shield buster, I would have lost previous war and never get matched up with this kind of strong team. For the longest time, I had been fighting boring wars. The change is very much needed.
Yeah. Hoping EA does something. Hahahhahahahahahha. Our current war. 480k to 80k. Ya run out of stuff unless you hack. One dude has done 30 mellow bellows. 150k alone for him.
Could we score more. Sure. Any point. Not really. We got our boxes.
We need shorter wars. No timing when awake anymore
boo to shield buster
@yuhhboii33 I understand where you’re coming from and the pain you feel...I stated in the thread “Time to shift the paradigm” that shield busters were not the solution and offered a few unique suggestions to move the dialogue in that direction - but I’ve come to the conclusion that folks would rather complain than offer viable alternatives which is ok because it appears no one is listening anyway.
You might want to double check where you read about feeders...it is very much contradictory from what I received from the legal representative of EA which I have had confirmed by the appropriate professional. I wish you good luck, I’ve heard your situation shared too many times primarily concerning the “strategy” not to appreciate the frustration level - I would suggest you simply take a sabbatical from the war games until someone, somehow, someday decides this makes no sense and corrects the missteps. I wish you the best.
