If you finished building the buildings before the land went into high land value, then you need to tear down buildings and rebuild them to get them to look like modern skyscrapers. To see the land value, click on the houses icon. Then the blue building blocks on the right. You will see the land that is the highest vallue in the darker blue. If your building was upgraded before it was high valued, you have to tear it down and restart. I choose to only do 3-4 buildings at a time so as not to lose too much of my population and the taxes from them.
