Re: Clubs Purpose Simcity Buildit
I have actually mainly played MMORPG's so guilds are the norm for me. I did start my own club here and started out as open then changed to closed, lol. Um, it's been a very different experience. I am used to members just jumping right in and giving input etc..I mainly feel like I am talking into a void. As a club leader, I am highly outgoing, offer the tips I know, encourage input, and I joke a lot. I am patient and giving everyone time to adjust. I have already set some gentle rules that long term inactive members would be considered as they have quit and they will be removed to allow active players to join. The club isn't a place to park your feeder city. Club jumping isn't acceptable. If you want to leave to try something else that's fine, I would appreciate them letting me know if there is a specific reason. If you just tell officers that you're stepping out and leave on good terms then you will be welcomed back if you find that it really wasn't what you thought. After one exit, coming back in will not be as easy and returning will only be available if there are openings. I have done all I know to encourage involvement but so far, I must say I am a little disappointed. I am on iOS. I don't Facebook. Game Center on iOS does not allow for friending. I still can't officially friend but it was what I had hoped would be an opening to meet players for trading or sharing information. This sounds awful, but sometimes I want to kick all but a small few out and just restart but I actually sent some invitations out and to ask them to leave with no good reason would be mean, lol. I have even posted my gaming email so I could be contacted privately if they felt the need. I don't know anyone in the club. I don't think the bulk of the players are accustomed to this way of coming together. When I opened the club, from my experiences I assumed, no rush, it takes forever forever for guilds to get members etc..lol..boy was I wrong..it was like a flock of seagulls fighting for the crust of bread. I have many lower level players and even mid levels that have had very little experience with the Mayors contest. I treat them all with kid gloves, express the positive but allow for freedom to play as they wish. I am just stumped. I know I am a regular name seen in global and the contest. I do posses some good solid game playing information, not a know it all though. I have a high population for my level and rank fairly high in contest points and level. So, I am not a complete dodo bird, lol. I frequently come here for information. I have spent the money to open the club and I am not going to close it down but after some time has passed, I think I will let members know that if they are not going to be more involved they should reconsider why they joined. I made that statement in the beginning but everyone is holding their spot, lol. I just needed to vent here I guess. If anyone can give some input I would greatly appreciate it. If I had known people would have filled spots in an hour then I would have done differently. I am accustomed to having to seek out members. I was highly active in Elder Scrolls for years. Maybe I am generalizing too much here, but maybe players who choose building games are a bit more "to themselves" so to speak. I like PvE vs PvP but communication has played a huge role. I can barely get a hello out of anyone. I still find things within a club beneficial if others are willing to step out on the ledge a little. As nice as I am I do have club agendas and eventually I am afraid it will boil down to take a chance and step out on the ledge or get pushed off in a way that is as kindly done as possible. Right now, I am just frustrated. Thanks
