City completely dark – lighting/rendering bug

Hello EA Support Team,

I’m experiencing a graphics/rendering bug in SimCity BuildIt.

Description:

My city suddenly became completely dark. This is NOT normal night mode.

There are no street lights or building lights visible at all. The entire city scene is black, while the UI works normally.

The issue also happens when I visit other players’ cities, so it seems to be a global rendering/lighting problem, not city data corruption.

What I’ve tried:

  1. Clear game cache
  2. Restart device
  3. Reinstalling the game
  4. Re-enter the city
  5. Visit other cities

None of these fixed the issue.

Device information:

  • Device: Xiaomi Redmi 8A Pro
  • Android version: Android 10
  • RAM: 2 GB
  • GPU: Adreno 505
  • Game version: 1.74.2.150717

Additional notes:

This looks like a lighting or shader rendering failure after a recent update.

    This bug has been reported so many times and EA are incapable of resolving it. It has been going on for months. For some it changed from pink pixels to black, for me with the last iOS update. EA just don’t care about anything, especially the players.

    I have same issue, it's been going on for days. I've tried clearing app cache, Uninstalling an reinstalling, restarting, phone system is up to date, but hasn't helped. I'm on Android v10, game version 1.74.2.150717. every time I seek help, I'm put back to the start of the reporting process. Can anyone advice?

    Same problem with me .As i saw ,here is already couple members with same issue ,but there is no help from EA service .What is simmilarity with us ?All of us are in Android 10 ,but I am not sure ,have we  app on device or on SD card ?My is transferred on SD card ,I have to do it ,this App now takes more then 3 GB .I hope that someone from Support will read this .
