Just found out there is no way i can overwrite my Facebook acunt saved city for the current one (which is better), so i can't get to see my friends in the new city, it kinda sucks, even when i unlink in the facebook and logged in again with the new city i can't link my new city to FB. the Devs should make a way for us to do so.
Actually... there is a way! and i feel quite incredible for figuring it out! hahaha. Only on iphone/ipad though...
Okay so first, you want to go on facebook (on an actual computer) and go to Settings>Apps>Show all (logged in).
Find Sim City, and hit the "X" (Remove)! it will ask if you're sure, because it will remove all app data. And this is exactly what you want.. if you want to start completely over.
Open up you Iphones/Ipads Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage > Sim City > delete app.
Next, go to your Game Center, and open that baby up. Then you go to Me > the "#" Games Bubble > then find Sim city again... left swipe and click remove.
Now you have to redownload the app. From there you should be clean of your dirty SimCity past... you're welcome 😉
This is seriously irritating. How has it not been fixed in the last two years? Every other vendor seems to be able to get Cloud Saves working right so there's no technical limitation. My original game is abandoned because I made too many early mistakes to recover from. I've now stopped playing my new game because (other than the lack of social play) if the iPad dies I'll lose all progress because SimCity BuildIt refuses to backup to GameCenter and Facebook.
EA tech support are full of it if they claim they can't remove the linking.

I have a similar problem. I accidentally logged in on the iPad for the first time using my wife's Facebook account and no matter what I do (including all the options stated previously) it won't let me log in with any other Facebook account.
if I try to log in on my iPhone it says that "this city is associated to another account" even though I have removed the app from my wife's Facebook
EA just gave me the routine answer on removing the app from Facebook so no help at all. The game still syncs between my phone and iPad but I can't use Facebook to connect to friends.
I even had a little hope this would eventually be fixed (after all it doesn't make any sense and, besides, it's a very simple problem to solve), but after seeing this topic has been going on for 3 years at least without a single word from the developers, then I think I must let it go and play something else.
I sent a request though the "help" menu in the game saying that I knew it wasn't currently possible to overwrite by "common" ways and asking if there was anything possible to be done, they replied like "we appreciate that you do know it isn't possible, but we'll be sending your request to our game team". Nothing will be done, guys. This is frustrating because it's one of the best mobile games out there, but this limitation is enormously discouraging.
