Re: Sim City Build It

The same thing happened to me but with game centre. This is what they sent me...

We have to be really careful how you save and retrieve saved cities, as we don't want to overwrite existing established cities. The error message you're seeing means that the social account you're trying to connect through is already in use, saving the progress of a different city. But that's likely the city you want to load, so why are you still seeing this message? I'm going to try to explain how this works!

If you try to reconnect with an existing saved city/social connection, over the top of an existing established or saved city (i.e. one that you've either A) made some progress in, or B) is already connected through a different type of social account) the game won't let you connect, as there's no way to link or combine those two separate cities. For example: if you have a Level 7 'Facebook-saved' city on 'Device 1' and a Level 22 'Play Center-saved' city on 'Device 2', you won't be able to log into Game Center on 'Device 1', or Facebook on 'Device 2'.

There is a way around this! If you want to retrieve a previously saved city, first uninstall then reinstall the game on your device, complete the tutorial on this fresh city, then tap 'Settings' to log in - here you can connect with whichever social connection you choose. If you prefer to keep the Facebook city progress, connect through Facebook. If you'd like to keep your Game Center progress, connect through Game Center. If you'd like to keep your Google Play progress, connect through Google Play!

There is no way for us to delete or remove these social saves. If your city has connected through Facebook, Game Centre or Google Play (or a mixture of the three), it will always be associated with those accounts. It's designed that way so users playing on two or more devices can log in and out socially without our servers saving slightly different versions of their city. Saving these conflicting versions would get very complicated and cause lots of problems, as I mentioned before! Because of the way your Player ID and social connection IDs mesh together the first time they are connected, there is no way for us to delete those individual Facebook, Game Centre or Google Play saves. If there's a social connection you haven't made yet (e.g. you connected with Facebook but not Game Center), you can still connect with the unused one to save the progress of your new city instead. Just remember not to connect again with the original social account!

When you install SimCity BuildIt on a secondary (or more!) device, make your new social connections as soon as you can to ensure you are running the same version of your city on each device.
