Re: Unplayable after last Android update

Hello @eurogrrl ,

So there are many posts about this and as you said, Android. My question for is how old is your phone and what version of Android is it running? If it is running 4.4 KitKat or lower then the game is starting to get too advanced for your phone. The company of the phone can also come into play as companies like Samsung or OnePlus make have less gliches while companies like Alcatel or ZTE might have more. RAM also might be affecting your game as there are only many memories you (in this case, your phone) can remember. Try not to have more than 3 apps running at once and your RAM space might also affect it. If your RAM is less than 1GB then that could be a problem for you. But whenever my game starts to glich, I do this. Back your game up to Fackbook or Google Play Games then uninstall SimCity. Then reinstall SimCity and then play the tutorial. After you finish it(Tutorial)then log back into whichever you backed your game upto.

Peace,
@SimCityAbdul

    I've got a Samsung Galaxy S8+ running Android 8.0.0. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling. This is the first time it's glitched and it's right after an OS update.

    I have the same problem it is happening when I re-enter the game after going to email or someother program.  I far as your responce saying the phone might be out of date,  try to explain this I have a sansung s9 which is the most current.  this was also happening on my s8.  so it isn't to due with out of date software or hardware nice try

  • Hello @eurogrrl , @rbriggsjr

    It seems that SimCity doesn't have Android 8.0 support. This happened to my sister too(I just found out. This my deduction so I ran to tell) and it was under the same conditions. Updated S8 and game was like this. Letters everywhere and it was black and white. So far I did not try it yet(Can't touch her phone) but uninstalling and reinstalling as you said. Can you please tell me if it works? Also I have prepared an report to send to EA.
    If this helped you, XP. If this did not, please tell me so I can come to a different conclusion.

    Peace,
    @SimCityAbdul

    P.S. @rbriggsjr was that sarcasm?

    I've found I can get the game to work by clearing all apps that are running and restarting the app. It can glitch if I get a notification as well, so I clear all running apps and that seems to fix it.

    Hi everyone,

    Have you tried the suggestion made by @SimCityAbdul?

    The suggestion was to link your account and reinstall the game. There were other players with similar issue who managed to resolve it this way.

    Thanks,

    Jason

  • Yes @EA_Jason . I install/uninstall my game whenever it starts to glich. Maybe that data got corrupted while downloading or there is an update.

    How will this end up getting solved,
    @SimCityAbdul
