All - there appears to be an issue on Samsung Galaxy A71 phones generating the error "Server Connection was not successful. Please try again".
If you are experiencing this error, please try the basic network troubleshooting steps found here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/mobile/troubleshooting-steps-for-android/#connection
In particular, check these common issues:
- Make sure that you have a working Internet connection, and the phone settings allow connections via WiFi and cellular data.
- If you're using WiFi, try using cellular; or vice versa
- In your phone settings > Connections > Data Usage > enable cellular data & WiFi
- Settings > Connections > More Connection Settings > disable any VPN
- Update your phone's system software, the Google Play app & the SimCity BuildIt app. Clear cache & data on both the Google Play & SCBI apps
- Allow SCBI and Google Play the permissions to access data storage
- Settings > Apps > SCBI (and Google Play) > Permissions > Storage
- Allow SCBI while Data Saver is on; add SCBI to exception lists for any data optimization apps
- Settings > Connections > Data Usage > Data Saver > Allow SCBI app wil data saver is on
- If the app is installed on external storage, try moving it to internal storage
- Ensure you have at least 10% of your data storage available. Clear any unused photos, videos, games, etc to make sure you have enough available storage space to run the game smoothly
If you have checked all of this and are still getting the error, please click the "Me Too" button on the first post in this thread and file a support request with the SCBI team.
To contact the SimCity BuildIt team in game: Tap the Settings icon (wrench and screwdriver) > Help > Contact Us
Or Submit a Request using the web form: https://simcity-buildit.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Thanks for your help in bringing this to the SCBI team's attention.
