I'm always dealing with the issue you describe. The game will load within 20 or 30 seconds, but I'll spend the next two minutes or so waiting before the delay disappears. It's noticably worse today though indeed. Just spent 10 minutes waiting and decided to close the game again.
They need to seriously consider ways to make the game lighter. My phones are quite powerful with 12 GB Ram memory, so that can't be the problem.
My advice:
- Remove stuff like the monsters
- Remove the VU tower
- Cut back on the animations like cars driving
- I'm fine with trees not moving in the wind
- Reduce the number of stores (like bureau of restoration). Most of these weren't permanent buildings up until a year back or so anyway.
- Cut out all assignments and items related to these. We're getting way too many anyway and who's going to make 12 fruit baskets for one assignment when making some iron bars gives just as many points for the Mayors' Pass?
- Reduce the number of currencies.
- Remove the floating coins above buildings, just add them to the tax building or something like that.
The game has been made unnecessarily heavy and frankly it's getting ridiculous. Even the most powerful devices are struggling. Just remove some of this bloatware and bring it back to its core. We don't need two dozen different commercial buildings, a bazillion different items to produce, countless tasks and monsters in our cities. At the very least we should get an opt-out button on some of these, so that that stuff won't have to be loaded anymore.
The Design contest seems really popular and captures the idea of what the game should be about well. Focus more on that, less on all the stuff that only ensurs the game becomes more demanding for our devices and about inventory and production management.
