I think I'll continue to wait. I have no intention to do a full reset on my phone. EA has at least emailed me to let me know they're working on it. I love the game and have become quite invested in it. But, I'm not interested in redoing everything on my phone to fix an issue that only some iphone users with the iOS 16 has.
- @andigirl09 Understandable. If you have everything backed up to iCloud, you shouldn’t lose anything though. It was annoying to reset, but the only painful bit was logging back into certain things and getting my settings back to what I had them. Not that bad. Good luck!
Thanks. Maybe it won't be that bad if I decide to give in and try it. :D
I've seen others say it still didn't work. Maybe it will with me (?).
- @andigirl09 Right! I was going to be patient and wait for a fix, but I got too antsy and was missing the game! 😂
Your fix worked for me as well. About 20 minutes of annoying pain. On the positive side, the iPhone speeds up once it is reset.
Additional notes to reset an iPhone 11 (Your milage and terrain may vary):
- Go into Settings
- General
- Transfer or Reset iPhone
- Reset (DO NOT SELECT "ERASE ALL CONTENT AND SETTINGS"!!!!)
- Reset All Settings
- Then follow the prompts
My iPad is still running iPadOS 15.7 and iPadOS 16 is not available for the iPad 6. I checked and syncing between the iPhone and iPad works once logged into the Game Center.
@3qi44q7ob195In my experience of playing the game a lot for around 4 years, when there’s a problem, EA are rubbish. Love the game though!
The game doesn’t work on iPhone XS and iPhone 11.
- @EA_Cath Weeks passing by and still no fix!
Yep! Completely ridiculous. In a few days it will be a month for me. Probably lost everybody on my war team. not happy with this game or developers at all right now… And no (to everyone else) I am not freaking resetting completely my phone.
I am starting to wonder if they WILL fix it?
No other apps are having this problem.
Per my experience with iOS16, quite a few apps, many of them shipped out as part of iOS16, have this same problem. I have had to reinstall several, including iMessage, Reminders, Notes, and Calendar. I suspect the mental midgets at Apple who are supposed to check these upgrades (downgrades) failed to perform their jobs properly.
Just one more reason I want a way to turn an iPhone into a Linux-based phone. Then, if something breaks, someone already has been there with a quick one-line fix that can be entered via the terminal and the user can solve the problem without having to jump through several hoops.
Apple makes excellent hardware. But when you take an operating system and lock it down so the really stupid users can't break it, when it breaks on its own because of defective programming and testing, fixing it becomes almost impossible.
