Some Tips You Already Know or May Be Not
Hi, here to share some tips I found out at the same time would like to look for more neighbors. I am currently LvL30 with 520K populations. Add me GC: LaCozy to be my neighbor!
First of all, learn how to earn Simeleons (Coin) is the most important thing. Do not harsh on building more residences, even though upgrading residences giving you some coin, but it is not enough and taking too much time. For my experience, I always play in 2 different stages, 1 is farming coin + expanding storage and area, and another 1 is building new residences, level up and add in new unlock services.
So, how to earn coin in Sim? Is all about buying and selling, the trick is, buying and store them in bulk, waiting for the computer to buy from you with higher price, or you can put it to your own Trade House at Max price. Store in bulk allow you to sell them all in once to the computer asking from you. For example, you store 30 vegetables, computer will normally asking to buy for 10+ or 20+ vegetables from you in a single request. This stage is farming coin stage, empty as much as your storage space so that you can store the item in bulk. Do not build residences or upgrade any building, clean all the storage room for buying and selling only. Upgrade your storage as much as possible, the more you store the fastest you can collect coins.
Once you collect enough coins for buying next services, for example police station or sewage, and also enough coins for new shops at next level, you can stop farming coins, and go in another stage which is leveling and building new residences. It is easy to level up in Sim City by just upgrading buildings. Either buying the materials from trade house or making your own. Is good to focus on 4 residences at a time, upgrading them to Max or the stage you desire, then slowly add new residences. Level up yourself until 1 level before a new services unlock, stop leveling, and turn into the farming coin stage again. For example stop at Level 15 and farming coins for Hospital which unlock at Level 16.
Many people think that, more residences they build, more population they can get. Is it true but not all. The boosting buildings such as parks, education, transportation, entertainment and etc are more important. You can have least residences but high in population by getting these buildings in your city. You need to get Golden Key for these buildings except parks, by completing the cargo shipment and Dr Vu disaster. The easier way to collect golden key is from Dr Vu. So once you reach 90K population, immediately repair Dr Vu buildings and start farming golden key from doing disaster challenge. Calculate the total golden key you need, and farming them at lower level as possible. Because it is easy to complete the challenge at lower level than higher level where it required lesser amount of materials and lesser type of materials too. Once you collect all keys needed for all kind of boosting buildings, you can back to farming coins stage again and proceed to next level when you got enough coins.
I am currently having only 76 residences in my city, and with all these boosting buildings i deployed, I am able to get 520K population. The more residences you build from the start, will cause you lot of trouble on getting and buying more services building to fulfil all the residences needs. So it is not advisable to build too much residences from begining. You can build more after you unlock all these boosting buildings and expand more area later. By this way, It is also easier to arrange your city too.
