Forum Discussion
Cross posted in the support forum. This is probably a better place for my suggestion since it would be an enhancement.
There's a nagging problem I have. Maybe it's related to my age, but, I can't remember which items my Residential Zones, Cargo, Airport, etc need.
First, I go to the zone(s) and touch to see which ones they need. Take mental note. Go to factory or shops and place those items...whoops...distraction...let me take care of this over here real quick...<makes quick changes>....
Okay, go back to factory or shops and place those item in my production queues...
Wait...
Which items did I need again? Bah!
Go back to the Residential Zones, Cargo, Airport, etc and look through them again. Repeat until all items are queued properly in my factories or shops.
I think EA could help my memory in two ways:
1) In the City Storage, make each item have a black number indicating how many of that item you have on hand. Make a new, "demand" number indicating its demand (by your Residential Zones, Cargo, Airport--all things that place a demand on that item). The demand number is red, if the demand has not been met, and a black number if it is >= the demanded amount.
2) When inside of the Shop or Factory UI, where the item icons are shown in around the shop/factory, two ways to show demand on that item, graphically:
a) Below the "In City Storage" line, create a new line that says "In Demand" and place a number indicating how many are in demand. Number color convention follows what is described in 1).
b) On the "In City Storage" line, simply add the number with a "/<demand>" by the existing on-hand number. Number color convention follows what is described in 1).
