I will suggest EA to create a "purchase advertisement board" that allow users to broadcast items that they are willing to get.
Unlike the price ceiling and floor when selling items, one could set any price from zero to infinite for a centain desired item, and then have it announced. Of course, the better the offer is, the sooner the deal ended.
The foreseeable, people will keep refreshing the list and try to sell things, and whoever has fast fingers and good lucks can make sells at some considerable price while someone else need something urgently.
EA could also be benefit from this change, players can pay some simcash for functions such as "Items sorting from price high to low for Cherry Cheesecake", "Items sorting from price high to low for Bread Roll" and other similar functions which make it a win-win situation for both EA and mayors.
