Tax money isn't adding up... are we being scammed?

According to my game I earn 17,000 per 24 hours. I didn't open the game for 3 days and when I did, how much did I make in taxes after 3 days? 17,000.

That's not right. It should be 17,000 X 3 days = 51,000.

EA, time is moving whether or not we are playing the game. This is a massive flaw and I suspect a scheme to rip us off and prevent us from building up our cities.

So of course when I email them I get some form letter that didnt even address my question. This sucks.

Tax stops adding up after 24 hours and must be collected.  This is stated in the game FAQ (but yeah, I know that most people don't read that).  Can you imagine if the tax kept adding up forever.  Someone could stop playing for three months and build up a huge amount of cash, without having to do anything.

They should make the cap at 5 days or something.

This would give people an incentive to come back after being gone for some time.

Also you can't do much with 24 hours of tax money. I am at 500'000 citizens and I make 20k a day and that doesn't give me much.

The developers want this game to take us a year to max the map and they are banking on us tolerating it. This game is losing its fun because of this

Taxes are only part of a good city's revenue stream, but the game won't play itself for you...

What I find interesting is how the tax rate is calculated.  That doesn't seem to make any sense.  It appears that we get diminishing tax revenue as the city grows.

For example, my city has a population 677,893 with an approval rating of 100%.  My 24 hour income is 20,053 (tax rate = 20%).

That works out to .029 cents per sim.

My wife has a city population of 35,233 with an approval rating of 100%.  Her 24 hour income is 7,394 (tax rate = 20%).

That works out to .209 cents per sim.

I would be more concerned if I can actually spend money and buy items on the GHTQ (at least at better than 5% success rate).

So, the question is:  What is the basis for the 20% tax rate?  It can't be the population at the higher population levels.  Otherwise, I would make over $100 simoleons a day.

The folks over at scbuildit.com have been tracking the taxes.  Here's a link to what they have so far: http://scbuildit.com/simcity-buildit-taxes-population/

I think the chart they have up explains it better than words....
