I love the idea of being able to upgrade existing buildings for special perks. Sounds great to me, but... "These Epic Projects Are A Bit Ridiculous".
- I feel the 24 hour time limit can be just fine if the requirements and rewards of the Tasks are better balanced. For example, I've had duplicate Tasks offer differing rewards. I've also had Tasks request low quality items, such as Concrete, and reward me with 3 points while a Task requesting a Refrigerator only earned me 1 point. Suggestion:
- Lower quality items should offer 1 point while higher tier items offer progressively higher points. A single refrigerator is worth at least 3 points. Multiples of higher items should offer up 5 points or more. 5 Backpacks are certainly worth more than 3 points (at least 5).
- With regards to achieving Tier goals... 10 points (Bronze) / 80 points (Silver) / 160 points (Gold)... Yeah, that hurts. Very sad at the current state of the game. I will Never achieve a top tier Project. Ever.
- 1/6 of a Speed-Up Token per building per day?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAaaaaa! That's lousy incentive to use this aspect of the game. Why not just make it "1 Token per week"?
- Global Trade... This whole issue could be solved by making all Tasks require Beach Expansion items. It seems that 75% of all ads via the Global Trade HQ are currently Lifebelts, Ship's Wheels, and Scuba Masks.
- I agree that the option to cancel/refresh Tasks is a must. I'm currently stuck with 2 Tasks wanting 4-5 Corn and another 2 Tasks both requesting 3 Cupboards. All for only 1 point reward. [Throws hands up] Even if I had to accept a 5 minute penalty on a new Task request, that's much more productive than being stuck on a duplicate Task for hours.
- You are spot-on regarding battery consumption. This game burns through my iPhone's battery like it's nothing. Talk about the heat... I get an ice pack [wrapped in a towel] to use as a heat sink... It's crazy.
I'm still building my city too so much of my production facilities are less than optimal. I suppose I should focus on getting Nano-tech Factories and upgrading all of my Commercial structures to maximum efficiency.
... As it stands, I am officially giving up on my current Epic Project. Sure, I still have 5+ hours left until it ends, but with multiple Tasks requiring the same high production cost items and a dwindling Simoleon supply there is no chance that I will ever get to 80 points. It looks 59 is as high as I can go.
I've spent all day chasing this project. I have 334/340 items stuffing my inventory and am unable to use any of it towards this project.
I like the idea of Epic Projects and I'm sure they'll be great once they're tuned up. These new upgraded building look really, really awesome and I can't wait to grow some in my city. As it turns out, I'm going to have to wait. Like it or not.
... Why don't Nano-tech Factories offer a speed boost to production too? We can upgrade Commercial buildings to produce goods faster. Why not Nano-tech Factories as well?
If things were balanced better, then yes... I agree with you.
As of right now, I'm not proceeding with any epic building. I just don't have the time to deicate myself to a game with all the other more important things in life.

I agree. Makes me want to delete the game the way it is now. I don't need to see 10 copies of the same item for sale.
- Anonymous10 years agoI've had all these problems as I'm sure a lot of users have. I'm quitting another Epic build after silver because there is no way I'm going to complete 18 ladders over three requests in the next 8 hours. Plus all that time would net me 4 epic points. Yesterday I had the same issue with three requests for Frozen Yogurt at the same time, which would have netted me 4 epic points.
I'm sure this will get worked out (remember the first month of the Dr. Vu upgrade) but it can take a while before anything is offered.- Anonymous10 years ago
Do Silver/Gold epic buildings look different than Bronze? Not that I will ever achieve either with the insane requirements.
