This is by far one of the most regressive updates that you have attempted post Services 2.0, and as a loyal player who has paid money constantly for mayor's passes for nearly 2 years, this may finally be the update that makes it no longer worth it to waste money away on a game that does not have the player's best interests at heart
There is a fundamental failure from the developer's side to understand that bonus assignment's are the only way that progression throughout the Mayor's pass for each season is possible. Bonus assignments are how you can easily blitz through until you hit the cap mark where you are no longer able to progress further. With this gone, there is fundamentally no way to progress to Tier 48 anymore, and thinking that players will reach it is wishful thinking. Maybe in the first iteration of the mayor's pass where you used this new system of points, it could be done because each tasked rewarded you 5k to 7k, but despite nobody asking, the developers have made individual tasks worth less and less throughout the year until they decided that making bonus assignments award nothing is the best way forward. Optimistically, I may only be able to reach Tier 27 now of this otherwise good season building-wise, before I can no longer progress further. Progress has been made artificially slow thanks to this horrible update. Milestone tasks are not satisfying because you have devalued them so greatly it is no longer worth the time and effort to attempt anymore. This increases weekly pressure as I am afraid that even with doing all my tasks, full progression of the mayor's pass is impossible. Normally on Week 1, I would be able to reach Tier 21 within 3 days. This time for this Week 1, I am only at Tier 14. All while you raise the number of points needed to progress the further down the tier you go from 6k to 8k to 11k even before Tier 21, when before it was all 6k. You have denied players who dont want a slow pace, no way to finish the season at all.
The only way I see any improvements to salvage this rather regressive update is one of the following
a) Reintroduce points back for bonus assignments, and compensate everyone by awarding them free mayor points for the week that we were unable to use them to progress down the pass
b) Make the tasks worth more: I'm sorry, but I am not blind. They are still worth nothing. These should be at the very minimum 5k for things like earning 20k simoleons, since you have rejected us being able to earn via bonus assignments. An average of 7k for level 1 of completing things. What is the point of putting the cap at 900k when no one can reach it anymore.
c) No more increase in the number of points needed to progress down the mayor's pass: All tiers remain at 6k to progress or lower. The audacity the developers have to raise the number of points needed evem before Tier 21 shows a fatal flaw and misunderstanding of the capabilities of us players who are dedicated to finishing it, as most motivation has been sapped away.
I sincerely wish the request and the complaint of mine does not fall on deaf ears and is acknowledged by the team behind SimCity Buildit, because a failure to respond to the needs of the players who are still here post Services 2.0, could very well be the final nail in the coffin for this game, and I may wish to restore all my purchases should this update remain the way as it is with no changes or even an acknowledgement that perhaps the developers of Simcity need to realise, was a step way too far.
