Why can't I upgrade storage?

So, for the past few days, I haven't been able to upgrade my storage. There is no longer an "upgrade storage" button when I go to my inventory.

Many times I'm a few items short in order to upgrade, so I pay sim cash for them. Now that functionality seems to be gone, and I can't imagine EA passing up an opportunity to get people to spend cash, real or sim.

Any ideas about where the "upgrade storage" button has gone? And is it ever coming back?

  • @QuincyMom2  What’s your storage capacity? If you maxed out your storage, the upgrade button will vanish. Maximum capacity is 700 for the capital.

The button comes back again if EA decided to add the  storage, so you can upgrade again. (It happened several times in the past)

  • I noticed this, I’ve been saving storage items in the hope that I can increase the capacity, but I can’t. I’m reluctant to sell my storage items because I know as soon as I do that, the option to increase will reappear!

an indication from EA would be good....

  • @chrisboddy Sadly, it’s that Catch 22 situation and I have never seen EA offer any indication in advance that they’re increasing storage. If you are in a strong Mayor’s Club that actually support each other I would probably share what I have to help your teammates progress...and if not I would look for another club. My personal experience has been when you share with others it always finds itself back 10 fold...in this game, but more importantly in real life. Good luck.

sorry with the temp it is at 825.  so that means my storage is 780. I did lose the ability to upgrade my storage any further about two or 3 months ago. So I figured I had finally reached the limit.

    @gargoyleBAW

With storage limits set as they are now, and without Bonus Storage, mayors can currently have 700 slots with Capital City and 20 additional storage slots for each of the currently available five Regions.

In other words, for now, 800 slots (EXCLUDING Bonus Storage slots) is the current max.

When you unlock your fifth region you will be able to add 20 more storage slots.

We just need more storage... let’s say 900+ regional...😁 total 1k. It will surely help to hold more items for repairs during wars & would give us the ability to hold more supplies after doing deliveries.

Hopefully EA will increase that limit soon...

@never2old2game do you have to have every region to get the 20 extra? Because I have sunny isles and frosty, with my storage boost from season im at 730 and its not giving me option up grade again...I am doing epic but didnt think that matters? I've reset, everything...any input will be helpful thanks

    Hello @aimtcb

Try visiting Sunny Isles first. In lower right of screen click your Services icon (looks like a government building). When your Services panel is open, click Regional and scroll to the right if necessary to find Regional City Storage. You'll need to place that building in your Sunny Isles Region to add 20 permanent storage slots to City Storage. Repeat for Frosty Fjords to get 20 more storage slots.

    Requirements to unlock Regional Storage:

City level (Experience Level) 25, Regional population of 5,000 and 5,000 in Regional Currency.

I hope this information is helpful.

    Good luck to you!

    ✌
