@solidsnake8118 - Oh, yes - Omega factories eat up those resources a lot faster than they should, no getting around it. As with most everything in SimCity, the first thing you want to look at is transportation.

Make sure your trade depot is both close to the factories and as close to the city entrance as possible. You want to try to eliminate any traffic issues for delivery trucks. Max out the delivery trucks for the trade depot. Instead of plopping more storage warehouses on your trade depot, plop another full trade depot so you can max out another 4 delivery trucks. Once your Omega production gets going and you're able to keep up with the demand for resources, it will really start to pay off.

This video from Skye Storme's Let's Play Series shows the bug and how he deals with it. There is so much information in this LP series, I highly recommend it. His complete Omega city build starts with Episode #36 with a blank region and covers the basics to optimize a full Omega city. Even if you're not interested in building a full city of Omega, the tips about transportation, medical, fire, and using medium density low wealth buildings is invaluable.

Good luck on your Omega factory! Once I got the hang of it, I really enjoy building filthy polluted cash cow cities 🙂  Let us know how yours goes. Happy Building!

  • Hi @solidsnake8118 - If you mean you want to purchase specific resources from another city in your region, the answer is "no". There is no direct purchase interface. But, the Seller can gift the resources to the Buyer, and then the Buyer can gift the simoleans back to the Seller, which basically ends up being the same thing.

There are a lot of variables and conditions for buying, selling and gifting resources - you each have to have a trade depot or port with the proper type of storage available, set to export or import as appropriate and make sure you're both connected and regional traffic flow is not stalled (so the trucks don't get stuck in the region). Initiating a gift from the regional view is fairly easy, just click on the receiving city and then the gift button.

Check out photonsink's answer to this post on Reddit for a comprehensive how-to: https://www.reddit.com/r/SimCity/comments/42tb4b/inter_city_trading/

    Happy building!

    Hi @BlackjackWidow

Thanks a lot for the detailed response.

    Very well noted.

Actually my city is crude oil rich but no ore deposits at all.

Im running an Omega factory and importing raw ore at the trade depot.

But thats not enough it seems as the Omega factory is frequently complaining no ore.

Due to this my factories are shutting down as they are short on omega.

How can i import more ore so that the omega factory is never out of ore .

    Any solution ?
